+1...didn't even know you had the camera out when I was shooting!
I've got one of you on my camera...I have to get it downloaded!
Had a blast as usual...love letting them rip from a distance (through trees and anything else you can put in the way)!

thanks for sharing the pictures Arwin It was a great weekend :clapper:
This is a great shoot and one that I will never miss is at all possible. I was happy to get to spend the day with great friends. This is a great laid back family type shoot and to a ton of fun. The Michigan Longbow Association does a great job at putting this together and I know a lot of hard work goes into it.
wow what a great weekend to sweat it out. I had a blast and met so many People cant even name them all. Had fun with bow man on the course and at his booth with the St. Joe River Bows (great shooting bows also) and All the crew that was there.
Arwin u looked like you where sweating out there??
was it Hot???
Rob it was great seeing you and Donna again.
It was a great weekend just wish my back was not out and I could have done some shooting.
Thanks to everyone that stopped by our booth and visited
Anybody else have any pictures? I was bummed I forgot my camera on Saturday. :banghead:

For some reason I only have a few photo's and this was one of them. You just had to clear that little sapling to hit the target which is just behind Arwin. Tough shot! Anyone can hit the hog but that small diameter tree was a tough shot!
Also for the record I center punched a small tree that was wide the intended target (stupid turkey...I hate turkeys!).
I really like the 3-D courses...they are always fun and the group I went with was one of the best I've ever shot with.
Josh
Here's a couple more. Ripforce and I are on the right. Some Tradbow friends are on the left but I'm not sure they are on this forum.
The Jackalope pic is a little blurry but it was humid and all we had was camera phone that kept getting mist all over it.

Overall, I was really really impressed with this shoot. No waits on the targets and the courses were extremely cool with a variety of targets. I also thought it was great that the little ones had a course dedicated to them.
I shot that one anyway. :)
:campfire: :archer2:
Man was it ever a great time. I just wish I had time to shoot one of the courses. Maybe next year. It was great to see all of you out there.
Dang, I've got a cute wife! ;-) I'm glad you have a pic of her up here. She adds a touch of class to these bows! Great meeting you guys. I laugh every time I see a pic of Rob. He's a real character.
~John
Thanks to every one for a GREAT time!!! The shooting was a blast and Josh has elected to carry everyones arrows for the next course (he's been practicing :-). That was a fun course to shoot with everyone! and Thanks John I thought that was one of my best pics!!!!!
I have been a fan of GLLI for several years and haven't missed one since 2004. I was able to shoot one course this year. It seemed like attendance was way up. I know my van was lighter heading back to the shop. Thanks to everyone who came by the booth to say "hello." Sorry I keep forgetting your names.

I learned a long time ago you can never have enough arrows on a 3-D course! I only had 23...ended up with 22!
I can rent out some space if needed!
Josh
It was a nice event once again.
A quick question to all of the other attendees...who was the woodworker who made the bow rack on the raffle table? It was the arrow with six, or so pegs.
I want one! :)
I hope none of you got cold while there.

I only got on the course once myself Larry. Thanks again to everyone that stopped by our booth to say HI
Hi Guys,
Thanks to everyone who attended for making the GLLI a great event! I've added a bunch of photos to the MLA website: http://www.michiganlongbow.org/galleries.htm
Here are some highlights:

Paul, those pictures of the kids are wonderful. They are the future of the MLA and the GLLI. Also I thought that there were more young people (teens) there this year, and that's a good sign.
In the future, if you're going to take my picture please warn me so I can suck in my gut... ... :D
I noticed way more teens and women this year! :clapper: Hopefully we can capitalize on this and keep them around.
Don't worry about the gut Ron, it's a built in stabilizer! :D
The kids range was real nice. It was also great to see a lot of loner bows and arrows for the kids. That was something missing at Compton. I know my kids liked trying some of those bows. We are in the process of getting them some better bows right now and they both found bows they liked shooting. I was able to get some feedback from them on style and weight.
The courses and targets were great. There were a lot of nice hunting range shots, some long ones to challenge, and some short ones to build confidence. I know my kids had a great time shooting. I was impressed with the number of targets put out; the yellow ribbon course could have had 50, but I lost track so I am guessing.
The silver arrow was fun. I just wish I would have thought to start gapping on round three before I got to my third arrow.
I can't think of a better setting for this event. With camping, a lake, and the village there is a lot to do if you are not shooting.
I know I had a great time.. And was happy I got to see many old friends... Great photos guys,
Cody
Yes, it was a great time in Michigan again! Arwin, I didn't realize that was you and your son over with Dave and Tracey. I'll be sure to introduce myself next time.
Thanks for the pics, guys! I even found myself in one (backside view).
Great pic of Joey Campbell shooting in the Turkey Shoot in our local paper the Muskegon Chronicle(August 16)pA5. Sad thing is on the front page of August 14 they show a little guy shooting a bow that looks to be strung backward!
:dunno:
I gotta get me a longbow and get to one of those shoots-looks like alot of fun! :archer2:
Just a tun of fun!!!! We shard camps with some of the best people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing!!!! Oh ya and you too Arwin :-)
