Never had one, been thinking about trying one. What do you guys think are the best metal recurves out thers? If anyone has one they want to sell that 62 50/28, let me know?
I've had real good luck with my Quinn Stallion recurve. I've been shooting it for about two years and for the money it's a tough bow to beat for under $250.
Hoyt Dorado is excellent
Quinn Stallion, great shooter and won't break the bank.
Dorado all the way. You set it up once and you are good to go.Shelf is radiused and sits right on your hand and the grip is unreal.

If you want to shoot off the shelf- Hoyt Dorado riser.
If you want an elevated rest and ILF fittings- Hoyt Excel.
I'd get Tradtech limbs, mod the Dorado for them.
I have a new Morrison ILF metal riser. Bob's design is hard to beat. You can shoot off the shelf using a plunger or building out the shelf with a felt pad. Also, you can use an elevated rest/plunger set-up.
The adjustability of the ILF design is awesome!!
Lots of options out there. What length do you draw? DO you want adjustability? DO you want AMO holes? What type of grip style do you like? Does swapping bushings bother you or are you okay with it? Do you want/need the ability to swap limbs or do you want a solid lock-down with state of the art material/design limbs? What's your budget? There are lots of answers but we need to know more of the questions.
I can only speak for the Bow I shoot, I would say the name. But then I'll get ragged for not having a BOW that is 100% USA. ( USA & Taiwanese )
To Hell what others Say... I shoot a PSE KingFisher recurved Bow 50#@28"
Quinn stallion, best buck for the bow or twice the money. If you dont mind the price, Iwould definitlye recomend the TradTech Titan, and their Black Max Carbon limbs, these limbs are super smooth, fast for the poundage and comparable to limbs costing 2-3 times as much. If you need more details on either, pm me and I will be glad to help you. I have 4 Quinn risers, 7 sets of limbs and a Titan also.
I've got a Belcher 15" ILF rise with Dalaa limbs which make it a 56" bow and it the smoothest draw drawing bow I've ever shot. Fast and shoots as good as anything out there.
My favorite would be a magnesium handle Bear takedown with Rose Oak limbs.
I have a couple of Dalla's and have really enjoyed shooting them. I like the ability to adjust poundage to help with tuning of arrows I may already have. I recently purchase a pair of Dryad's epic limb and really love this combo. Super quite and does not stack at my long draw length. They seem to shoot with any of the other top end limbs or bows I have shot.
I have a Morrison Mini metal that I really like. Good weight and I like the fact I can shoot off the shelf with a plunger.

I would look at an ILF rig, instead of a system that uses a proprietary connection. ILF gets you a vast range of limbs at all price ranges and different lengths, and can be assembled not too expensively. And they have a good resale value, since they're so flexible, in case you don't like metal. Plus, the same limbs can be used on 15-25" long risers. I shoot a Titan with carbonwood limbs. Riser is 17", with long limbs, gives me a 62" recurve.

DAS/Dalaa here but I like the shorter (17") riser for some reason!
I'll be trying out "The Stick" by Tim Strickland and Mr. Belcher this week. This bow is just now being offered.
Frankly, I don't want to like it. I love the look and feel of exotic wood risers and limbs and have invested in several this year. However, I know Tim's passion for archery success and he wouldn't be involved in something that wasn't extremely well thought out.

What is a good/fair price on a Hoyt Gamemaster 2 in excellent condition ??
I've seen people asking $300 for them. My son sold a RH model for $250 that had hardly been shot. I have a lefty that I'm hanging on to for bowfishing. They aren't pretty but they are tough and they are technically sophisticated.
Can't go wrong with Belcher's Sky bows or Bob Morrison's offerings. todd
There is a new hoyt recurve that has not hit the market yet. It looks really cool. Fred Eichler is shooting the proto. I wonder when it will be unleashed on the public.
I've been playing around with a 23'' PSE FITA riser with an elevated rest and trad tech longbow limbs which makes a 68'' funny looking longbow which shoots very well. I also have several other bows with ILF fittings so I can mix and match limbs......stabow
Dan, I'm right here in Ohio. You can stop in and try our metal riser 13,15,17 inch and sky limbs. That combo would run you $650
