Title: Advice on CA Hogs
Post by: rktscientist7 on August 10, 2010, 01:40:00 PM
Hi Gang!

I'm looking at my first hog hunt coming up this October.  I'm spending a lot of time honing my shooting, but have a few questions I need answered.

I know that a hog's sharpest senses are smell and hearing, with vision typically being relatively poor. How well do I need to camouflage myself? I was thinking some basic heavy duty camo pants and shirt with an extra layer or two in reserve. Is there a camo pattern that CA hog hunters think works well for the fall? I plan on hunting at Ft. Hunter Liggett in Paso Robles, if it helps.

On that note, does anyone have experience hunting Ft. Hunter Liggett? I'd love to hear about your experiences and whether or not your hunts there tend to be successful!

Thanks in advance for helping someone looking to get started hunting!
