Title: Question about fletching using three blade BH
Post by: jhg on August 09, 2010, 10:10:00 PM
What is the consensus about fletching when using a three blade broadhead? Am I right to think straight fletching would be a good choice since any helical would spin the 3 blade BH- not a help upon entering game?

Thanks

Joshua

Spin being the key ingredient in a broadhead flying true and not planing, I use helical for everything.  I shoot mostly 2 blades but I don't change my fletching for 3 or 4 blades.

....you need spin to stabilize the arrow in flight......really doesnt affect penatration on game....too much BS about "needing" fletching to match the bevel on the blades .... trainloads of game was killed with the old RH grizzlies with both RH and LH fletching.

Hard helical stabilizes better.Straight is never a good option.

Put as much helical as your jig will allow. You want added rotation and stability. Sorry but I am no big fan of straight or offset fletching.

I have shot lots of game with 3 blade heads. Helical fletching all the way....four fletch at that.

Helical or offset both create spin....

Straight fletch is a   NO NO!!!!!
