NOVEMBER whitetails here in IL? Are you kidding me? I get 14 full days off in November and every morning before work. It is a holy month, one in which my wife and kids know how happy I am that month and they in turn are happy for me. The chance to hunt with Hope would be an absolute dream, during THE month, hunting whitetails with multiple tags in my pocket...even with a stable of bows that want to go hunt that month Hope would be THE one because of the kids, because of the tradition, not to mention karma...ahhh karma. Special time, special bow, special animals :campfire:

I've got one coming, longbow , in sept. and can't wait.Leopardwood riser and tiger maple limbs.Got two nice nontyp. spotted[ one will go 230-250 or so and the other only 200+.Hope to break it in on one of them.Chris is a great guy to work with.
I would have loved to put my name in, but looks like hunting is out for me this fall due to a recent major surgery.

Email to follow with paticulars but it would be an honor to have BOTH Hope and Faith even if it was only for a weekend. Mason is RH and I am LH. Our deer season is from Sept 25th thru Jan 9th. We are flexible and maybe we can fit in that window somewhere ? In the history of Hope and Faith have they ever been hunted in tandem by a father / son team ? If so, did they both strike gold ? Wouldn't that be a dream come true ?

Mudd...Oct and Nov are the 1st to fill up every year....for obvious reasons.
For some reason, there was also a stall in my emails...I got a ton of them a day and a half late for some reason. Folks were even emailing me if I got there emails that came in before their original emails.
So is it first person to get an email sent off gets the spot, or is some other criteria used.

Mason and I will hunt Miss Hope and Faith hard and try to double if we can ? Wouldn't that be something ? Opening weekend in TN can be brutal hot and if the past few weeks are an indicator we are in for rough one. It was 101 AGAIN today, sheeeesh ! Thanks Terry !
i am with you NoCams. It will be a hot one. 103 today with a heat index of 115. Even if it don't cool down much, I will do the best I possibly can with Miss Hope.

Send that cold front our way Mudd ! I am always tormented the first few weeks of bow season here in TN. Too hot to hunt , but sittin home thinkin someone else might be huntin is even worse ! Also get busted very easily when sweat is running down your legs. Hate educating them early in the season. We will try to hunt spots this Sept where we know the deer pattern and hunt it only on a good wind so the odds are in our favor. Just gotta pray for a consistent wind which is hard to get that time of year. Got busted on a great 9 point Sept last year with that errant swirl of the wind. Next weekend Mason got busted the same way and me on twin 6 pointers. They came in to 15-20yds and all they needed to do was take two steps and turn, they were facing me. Wind swirled and game over !

Wondering what arrows will spine off these bows ? Are they center shot or 3/16" cut past ? We got a wide selection of spines so wondering what would be close. My Shrews like 15lbs over what is marked. Cannot wait to see them in person, they look awesome.

Here's the response that I just sent to the following email that I received today.
I was curious about the arrows that I might need to get ready. I draw just over 28". I was wondering if I could tune a 55-75 to shoot with some added point weight or if I needed to stay with a 35-55. I wanted to buy some shafts ahead of time and fletch them, leaving only 1 or 2 bare for tuning. If you could help me a little on this I would sure appriciate it.
My Response:
Tonight I shot a 64" 45# at my draw length of 27 1/4" I shot 5575's at 32 3/8" with 145 grain field points and 3555's at 30 3/8" with 145 grain field points.
I shot groups of three arrows. Both sets of arrows grouped well but the 3555's were the most consistent for me. That's not to say the 5575's weren't acceptable they just weren't as tight of groups as the 3555's and when I missed it seemed to by by a bit more with the 5575's. I do feel that if I would have upped the point weight or added some brass inserts the 5575's would have tightened up. I have had good success with 5575's by leaving them full length.
I would also like to add that I'm grateful for this opportunity that Trad Gang has given me.

Thanks Chris, I look forward to the opportunity to hunt some Ohio whitetails in Jan. I might even still have my buck tag left. But if not, does beware........
I use Arrow Dynamic trads 29"s BOP....and I had to add 50 grains to my Bhead to the them to fly.
Normally I can shoot any bow with any head....but I don't have a bow this light. At 49 pounds drawn to 27.5, I had to move to a 225 grain head.
Thanks Chris & Terry.... Sounds like our Carbon Express 150's will work fine, we just need to play with point weight to fine tune. We got several different spine sets of woodies too. Looking forward to hosting Miss Hope & Faith.

The little brown angel truck pulled up today and dropped off Miss Hope and Faith. We wasted no time getting them assembled and strung up. Braced them at 7.25" was not sure what was best Chris ? Mason and I both found them to shoot well with Carbon express heritage 150's and a 175 tip. I also have a set of 60-65 POC's with 160 tips that shot very well off of Faith. Think Mason will use a WW on the front of the CE 150's and I might use my woodies with a TreeShark.
Will get some more practice in with them before we head out next week for squirrels and preseason scouting. Them, " Hammers " make great heads for preseason stumping and squirrels.
OH BOY! Only 62 days until I get a month of HOPE! :campfire:

Can't wait till December when hope comes to Mass,,,,, its a hard hunt here in Mass because by then you have had every shotgunner walking or pushing through every piece of woods in this state,,,,,, the deer hunker down!!!!!
but I go into swamp mode and with the end of the season near and the weather "too cold" for most of these guys here I usually find the deer,, I'd love to close the year with some pics of hope and a nice hard hunted deer.
