I recently bought Marty's personell 2 piece Supelo TD.I have always had a love affair with mild reflex deflex longbows since I started shooting traditional bows.I have owned about all of them at one time or another.
I had not tried one of Marty's bows yet.But have been wanting to for awhile.I really liked that 2 piece Supelo when he posted pics of it a few months ago.I inquired about it then.
Marty put it for sale recently and I jumped on it pretty quick.I just had to try it out!Its a connexion hinge TD.Its 68 inches and 50#s at 28.I draw it around 30 inches.
I recieved the bow today. It was packed well in a PVC tube.I pieced it together and strung it up.Set the nockpoint at 1/2 inch.Braced at just over 7 inches.
I shot about 30-40 arrows from 20 yards.I only missed the kill zone one time. Its really well made and a pleasure to shoot. Its very stable and this grip is really sweet. The glue lines and tip overlays and finish are 1st rate.
This is a superb D shaped bow.I was shooting a 12 strand B-50 string.CX Heritage 250s cut to 31 inches and 200 grains up front.Probably around 575-600 grains.I have not weighed the arrows. They flew well.I believe this is cut 1/8th out from center. But am not sure.
Marty did a super job on the connexion hinge. He recessed that in the overlays on the back of the riser for a smooth transition thier.I put a rubber roll on grip on it.
Just a thumbsup for a tradgang Sponser, good guy and sweet bow!
I bumped that thread Marty had running titled (First Two Piece With Connexion Hinge) up top in the POW WOW so you can see the bow if you are interested in a peek at it.You would think he had built 100 of thse TDs with how good he finished this one out.Rock solid, perfect fit!!!
Marty makes a nice one...I love my Cumberland!!
I'm glad your liking her buddy!
I noticed that bow just the other day, it's a beauty. Congrats
Thanks Joshua
Tried it with a eagles flight 4 arrow quiver tonight and it shot very well with the quiver attached.I use the 4 arrow hood combined with a 3 arrow gripper. It spaces the arrows nicely.
I would be completly comfortable and confident taking this rig hunting tommorrow. When shot about all you hear is the string cutting the wind, sssssst, thats about it.
Hey Steelhead...didn't you have a Schafer for sale not too long ago?
I'm looking for a RH 62" 3-piece at about 45-50# at 28 or 29"...you have or know anyone that has one?
Thanks!
Sold the Schafer Johnny. It was a 1 piece.
I would run a wanted add in the Bow classifieds and see if you can find one.
Good luck!
