Title: 600 size shaft?
Post by: jonsimoneau on August 08, 2010, 09:51:00 PM
Does anybody have any experience with this size carbon shaft?  I am trying to get a shaft that wieghs about 460 to 470 grains to shoot out of a 46lb. habu viperkhan.  Mostly just for targets.  With a 500...I have to add weight to the front and I end up much heavier than what I am looking for.

gold tip 600 ultralight entradas.
shoot them outta my target longbow. i used 175g. up front and was shooting them outta bows around the same weight range u are looking.
outta my target bow 42#@30" i use 100g heads. but i got a plunger. i would guess u would need to go with at least a 145g. to get the weight up. they are 5.7GPI. so they are really light. also used to shoot PSE Carbon force radial X weave 100. they are the same spine as the 600 in most other brands. really tough and nice shafts.

I shoot Victory V3 600's with a normal insert and 75 grain points for 3D. They fly real good. I shoot them from either my 38# or 45# Dakota recurve.

We have the CE Predator II's in .600 (called 20/40's) and they are 7.7 gpi.  My finished 20/40's weigh about 273 gr at 29", so with a 175 gr point they'd be about 450 grains.

They fly great out of two of my bows and they're priced right at $49.99 a dozen for shafts.
