I finished my hunting arrows for 2010 and thought I would share them with those of you partial to the color pink. I normally use analine dyes to stain my shafts but nobody makes a pink anymore so I used Dylon's cold-water dye to get the color I wanted. I then had to dye some white feathers to make them match the shafts. I do all my cresting work with a flame crester set of templates.

Darren, love your arrows. I am taking the last 2 I have from the dozen of yours I got from the UBM aution to WY later this week. They have been very lucky for me and hope to add a cow elk to the list.
It's fun to stay at the Y.M.C.A....

I'm secure enough to say those look pretty dang cool! :clapper: Wish I could build arrows like that.
Hey Stick those are pretty cool. I have just one suggestion, you should probably make up another dozen, I have seen you shoot and I don't think 1 dozen is enough. :bigsmyl:
Here are a few more for you Team Pink guys: :saywhat:

No, none of these are mine.
Love the detail work! My daughter saw them and now I have some work to do...
:)
Nothing stands out like pink feathers in the woods I use to shoot 2pinks and one yellow never had a problem seeing or finding them. Your arrows look good. Widow
Those are sweet my friend. You added just enough blue to assert your masculinity...... :help:
As always, your craftsmanship is impeccable.

Good looking sticks guys! Once you go pink you'll never go back
 Those are real lookers!
P.S. I'm with Scott, I'm thinking you need to work on another dozen.....those will only last you a month or so. :readit:
 :notworthy:
Oh yeah. Nothing like it. Those are awesome. Could you tell me more about the flame crester templates? Thanks Jason
P.S. I am man enough to admit that I too shoot pink arra's. I'm hoping to become a full time member of team pink as soon as my application is accepted by the board of directors. :biglaugh:
I do like pink arrows and those are some real beauties
Darren those are sweet. I mean that in a good way. By the way cabelas has pink camo bibs. Just a thought.
Darren I like them and how did you do the footings on the crown? I would use them in a flash if they dont work for you.
Raging Water Its fun to stay at the YMCA!! Matt did you forget about the all pink cedars that I made for you? You are a big fun loving guy now come on admit it you wear pink all the time.
This is for you folks who have questions about flame cresting: The cresting kit comes with three thin brass templates with various shapes cut into them. You place these templates over your shaft and burn the patterns you want into the shaft using a butane torch. Over the years, I have combined the shapes on the templates to come up with new patterns. The "footings" you see at my arrow's crown are just burned to resemble a footing. The cresters take some practice because it's really easy to get the templates too hot and they will scorch your shaft in places you didn't want it scorched. Shriver Archery no longer has a website but the flame cresting kit can be found at Kustom King Archery http://www.kustomkingarchery.com/Flame--Crester/productinfo/A3300/

PS. Jim, I got my pink bibs on order! I'll get us both a pair and we can wear them at the squirrel hunt.
Way too cool!!
They look great. I too shoot pink that way when I miss arrow doesn't blend with anything. If it does I am hunting in wifes closet.
Very cool. Those are almost too pretty to shoot - but only almost.
Darren your on , I'll wear them .
I forgot; thats a 42 short, but you need to grow a beard.
How about these?

Great detail. I would probably just hang those up and shoot my ugly ones though. I'd be afraid to lose one!
Jim, a peach would have a better chance at growing a full beard than I would.
Darren
I gotta say those are all durned nice looking arrows - I don't care who you are - LOL
Darren, that's funny but don't feel bad - I'll be 75 in Oct and I still have the same relationship with a peach. The worst of it is the limited whiskers I do have were always like barbed wire, so I still never got away with much - shaving-wise.
