Been planning on doing this for quite some time now and finally decided to just do it. Took about 30 minutes start to finish. I had an excellent collection of spike deer sheds I've found over the years and decided to put them to use. I thought it might look better that just cutting some tines to length.
It's got some character to it, I thought about felt lining behind where the antlers contact the cedar, but now I kinda like it the way it is.
Just thought I'd share!

Nice.....stabow
Very cool looking bow hanger! Great job! :clapper:
very nice i think i will try something similar to that
looks great !
nice bows too !
Thanks to all. Yeah I kinda like the bows too. All it's missing is my 3 piece Orion and my one piece Leon Stewart that is on the way! Oh yeah and after I took the pictures my son asked me if we could hang his mad dog pup longbow...of course it's just as deserving as any of dad's bows!
Travis
cool rack
Sweet rack, Travis. A little play on words. Nice collection of bows and with your son's bow up there it will be an encouragement to him.
Left to right the bows are as follows:
Fox Archery: arctic fox- 58# @ 28"
Leon Stewart: R/D longbow- 61# @ 28" two piece with conexion hinge
Jim Fox: 32# @ 28" for the boy to use when he outgrows the Maddog
Tribal Archery: 62# @ 26" (scales 60 @ 28") snakey osage selfbow
Cool !!! Good work :)
That is pretty sweet. Here is one I made for my man cave which is a room on the side of my garage. It's made of rough cut oak and osage with hooves from a buck I killed about 10 years ago. It will hold my bow with the quiver attached.

That's a very creative bow rack Travis!
AND you already have it *loaded* with longbows!
Enjoy!

Nice rack, nice bows.
Very nice, but you need two more bows.
Definitely like it. Great idea. I am sure it will be done again...
Shaun-
I've got a Leon Stewart on the way and my Orion is off with Mike getting worked over...what I really need is another bow rack! :bigsmyl: :biglaugh:

That is a very cool bow rack. Great idea!
Very creative use of the sheds.
Gives me something to plan for this winter.
You are right, it is much nicer with the antler bases on there. Very nice work, and excellent taste in bows!

House-
Nice bow rack. I decided about 8 years ago to put up a rack and display my bows too. My wife was surprised how many bows I had:^)
Darren
i like that! might have to make something similar myself...
Travis, I like it. When you mounted the sheds did you just predrill and screw or did you use some sort of adhesive in conjunction? Been thinking about doing something similar just haven't decided how to mount the antlers yet. Looks great....Shawn
now I know what to do with my box of antlers.
very nice job!
This gives me and idea. I've been trying to figure out how to store my recurves in the house with so my 14 month old boy can't get to them.
Very nice job for sure! I used a 3ft. section of a cedar post split down the middle and used the rounded outside with deer horn like you did.
Looks good Travis. But you have a couple open pegs.......... ;)
This was an old post...
Shawn, what I did was predrill and use epoxy with a wood screw. Still holding up great a year later.
Mike- no open pegs now, having to double up actually
I'll try to post an updated pic later.
