Title: Centaur Broadheads (quickest way to sharpen)
Post by: Jim Neaves on August 06, 2010, 03:28:00 PM
Hey Gang,
Just had some special wheels made for sharpening the hard to sharpen concave profile broadheads. The wheels are only 1/2" wide so they get right inside the concave arc of the concave profile. Here is a link to the video tutorial on how to set up the wheels on your bench grinder and how quickly you can put an edge on a dull broadhead. Not only do these wheels sharpen concave style heads with ease, but all other broadhead profiles, knives, scissors and tools! Check it out   http://www.centaurarchery.com/sharpener.htm#sharpening-video

These wheels are in stock and ready to ship.

Thanks, Jim

Jim, does the wheel have a bracked to hold the BH at the same angle - for mechanically challenged sharpeners?

There are no brackets or anything like that. It is all free hand so there could be a small learning curve for someone who can't chew bubble gum and walk at the same time but it is very quickly overcome. The secret is to just start out with very light pressure and practice on an old junk blade or broadhead and get the feel of it. Once you have accomplished the wire edge with the carbide wheel, then go over to the polishing wheel and 4 or 5 strokes with that, you'll be hair popping sharp. Sure beats spending a bunch of time sitting there with a small round file taking strokes at it. I guess I made it look fairly easy on the video but that literally is how easy it is. Once you've sharpened a few things with these wheels, you'll wonder what you did without them for all these years.
