OK, I have a BL Hunter TD and was wondering how the Silvertip and Dale Dye TD recuves compare as far as mass weight. I like the physical weight of the Bob Lee, but have always dreamed of a Dale Dye or a Tip. Thanks
Of the bows you listed I would go with a tip I have one and it has a good weight its not heavy or air weight its great to carry all day long. Widow
I have both a BL and a Tip, I think the tip is a tad lighter.
I would go Silvertip IMHO.
Heaviest > lightest;
Bob Lee > Silvertip > Dye
Out of all 3, I personally prefer the Dye. That said, I do prefer medium weight bows. I shoot better with a heavy weight, but it's always in the back of my mind that I'd hate to have to carry the dang thing to the top of a mountain!
The Dale Dye (along with my Morrison Cheyenne) is a nice compromise. Heavy enough to stay stable on target, light enough that I don't want to hurl it into the weeds after a 4 hour walk!
I'm with Rob. As for my taste a medicine point is one sharpest looking bows around.
I have a silver tip ordered. I believe the bow Dave is building is lighter than the bow Paul started with. I've owned a Dale Dye t/d and concider it a med weight bow.
Tip would be my bow for sure.
Had all three and would go with the BL over those listed.
The tip has a great checkering but it can cut the hand if not sanded down.
Also look at the PREDATORS they take the best of all three and are a dream to shoot.
I have the Lee and the Dye. The Dye is lighter and I prefer its grip to the Lee. Both are great shooters though.
I have none of the 3 you list but I'm test driving a Silvertip this week. I 2nd the Predator -- it is the only brand I've bought 3 of--2 for me and 1 for my son.
