At Denton Hill I found a good deal on a used Zipper. It had a High wrist grip and when I talked to the fellas at The Zipper both they said they could change that, so off it went to Zipper for a re-do. What do Zipper owners like about your bows and their performance. I won't have mine back for a few weeks. Big thanks up front....ron w
I just bought one from the 'Buckster' and I love that bow!!! I just got in from shootin it in the backyard and hit nearly everything. And if it was a miss it didn't miss by much. You're gonna love yours when you get it.
Number 4 is on order and should be here in August. Great workmanship, awesome grip, smooth shooters. Bill and Tracy are fun people to deal with and are great communicators.
Ron
I do not like the high wrist grip either so I purchased Bill's new ZSR riser it is more of a medium grip and not as large. Bill and Tracy are two excelent people to deal with and do very excelent work. This is my first Zipper but have been eyeing them for a few years and one of my good buddies has two and loves them,I am quite sure you will hear from him!!
Here's what I think.

my contributions are near the middle of the page. You got yourself a great bow at what sounds like a good deal.
Norbert
I've been eyeballing the Zippers too, for some time. I especially like the look of their forward-grip ZSR riser. Any further opinions would be appreciated.
I should add, I have owned 2 Standard risers, an SXT with the Evolution limbs, and have a ZSR with the Evolution limbs on order, with a specific grip request. Like I said, Zipper Bows, Bill and Tracy Dunn are great, even if they won't put me on the Pro Staff!
I own 2 Zipper Extreme's both with Classic limbs.
The grips are great finish is great too. Bill &
Tracy are the best. I got my eye on a SXT, some day.
Quiet, hard shooting bows with great workmanship and attention to detail. The bow design itself seems to capture as much energy as possible.
And the GRIP is the kicker that almost everyone who loves zippers talks about. I had shot several standard riser zippers and thought they were nice grips, but then I picked up Norb Schultz's extreme at one of the Texas Sweat. I knew I was going to buy one then because the bow and my hand felt glued together. I feel like Zipper's are one of the easiest pointing bows around.
As with most things everyone finds a bow they like and thinks its the best so it is subjective point of view, but I love em.
Chris
When I first held this used one I really felt like it was part of me. After I drew it and saw the price ......that was it. The bow I got is 64"- 52#@30"and it's smooooooth!!!
My backyard spring 2009. This is how much I like them. :D

Vermonster,
All I can say is.....I guess you love a Zipper!
Are all those the same riser?
That is Bill and Tracy Dunn in the second picture. Bill came to turkey hunt with me last spring after the Baltimore Show and Tracy bought a bit of marble(right Bill lol). We got to play with some of everything he was making at the time and I have an SXT here now with foam core longbow limbs.
I love my new Zipper SXT. It is a sweet shooting bow. You are in for a real treat! Bill and Tracy are awesome people also!
Benjy
I have a SXT with the Evolution limbs,it is one of the most incredible bow I ever shot.It is quiet,VERY fast but still forgiving and accurate. The grip is one of the best i ever put my hand on.Also if it is very light in mass it is very stable. This bow has set a new standard and is a next generation weapon.
Zippers are great bows. Quiet, fast, and extremely pointable. The grip is amazing. Bill and Tracy are great people. You won't be disappointed.
Did I say they are accurate? This is made at 25M(28 yards)at the first group of 3 after it is been strung the very first time. (http://i765.photobucket.com/albums/xx293/dazzafelix/DSCN0292-1.jpg)
Did I say they are beautyful?Well beauty is in the eyes of the beholder but for sure they aren't ugly.

OOOoooo! That's a nice one!!
WOW! What could I possably add?Except thank you all.Alot of great comments, from some folks that I have alot of respect for.
Thank you
Bill
That all ebony SXT that I saw at Denton Hill was simply gorgeous!
Zipper's are world class bows!
Ron,
Right now I have 2 SXT's. One SXT with Classic limbs and another with Evolution limbs. In my opinion there isn't a better recurve out there!!! :notworthy: The thing I really respect about Bill is that he is always trying to build a better bow. He never stops working on improving his bows. And there customer service is top notch. Not to mention all his bows are so beautiful!!! You made a wise choice my friend !!!! Enjoy the new bow.
Bill
Can't wait to get my riser back and to get familiar with this old girl!!!Good to hear so much positive stuff!!
You know how I feel about them.My favorite recurve.Mine are older but they all have class.Youll probably stop your incessant horse trading for a while now. Zippers will pinch ya,,, I mean hook ya. See you in Jewett.
These bows are definately on my short list.I don't know a bow Felix doesn't shoot well.I tell ya its in that darn Cheese!lol.Gots ta find me a Zipper. They add so many nice new models its confusing!
Steve,it is really confusing with all this choices and....addicting.But I think a Zipper worths a try.
cacciatore, is that Zebra wood or bocote in your riser?
Ron,it is zebra and cathedral cut zebra venners.
That's just a really nice wood combo, very tasteful!!
Not only are these great bows but Bill and Tracy Dunn are great people to deal with. The grip on these bow are second to none.
Can.t beleave there isn't more info on such a great bow and the dealers.
Most of what I have heard or seen on Zippers came from people who own them and love them. I know they were great to talk to at Denton Hill. The web site has a lot of stuff on it also.
I have had mine since 1991. Bob Thompson built it for me when he was out of Ravenswood West VA.
It's still as good a bow today as it was back then, and true to form I am still as poor a shot as I was back then.
I have other bows I shoot, but I always come back to my Zipper.
We got 4 Zipper's, been part of the family since the early '90s. Still shooting straight.
i had bob build me a couple right before he retired from bow building.the last one he told me over the phone was probably the smoothest he had ever built.he wasnt lying, that was a very smooth bow and i am still trying to figure out why i sold it.sometimes i wonder if i'm all here i tell ya.wish i had it back.
I'm looking forward to shooting mine and may hunt with it this fall. It's good to hear all the positive comments,, when you buy a used bow you kinda take a chance unless you have shot one somewhere along the way. All the good things I hear, and the one one I shot, I think I'm going to be a happy camper!
I have 2 and think his bows are some of the best!! As a matter of fact, I'm looking for a 62' right now...no luck, but will continue to look!
I'm thinking Zipper. Too much good press and then you LOOK at them. I'll never hold one until I get one, but feel quite certain it'll be all good. I really like the matching quiver, even though I'm not big on bow quivers!
They are easy on the eye and shoot great.

Got my riser back today from Bill and I just want to say what a nice job Bill did on it.It now has the standard med grip and seems to fit me much better. When I do my part it shoots where it should. Thanks Bill for great workmanship and a great product!!
I have a SXT with LB and Rec limbs. ZIPPER
Yep, just got off the phone with Bill this very morning and ordered up another set of limbs for my SXT. They will be Bacote w/foam cores to make a 60" bow 51# @ 28". Great guy to deal with!
