poor fella doesn't even have a name yet, but he should be putting them in front of the bow this fall!
He needs a name Larry! Beautiful pup! i hope you make a lot of good memories with him. :)
Good lookin' pup!
He looks like a "J. Bennett Sloan" to me...lol
There are no ugly pups but I have seen a few go 180 degrees at about 6 to 9 months.
I sincerely doubt that is the case here.
God bless,Mudd
Good looking PUP !!!
Nice pup Larry, we have three beagles and I'll be trying to arrow a bunny this fall with my Hill.

Larry, good looking little fella. Bo would be a great name.(Bo for Bosephous or Bow)
Oh yeah, looks like a cottontail killer - hey maybe "CK" (cottontialkiller)for short?
J
got 2 that will be a year old come the 15th they are tracking slow but no reason to push them..think i need to just trap a few bunnies and let them sight chase them and let them relize what they were bread for......
That pup will show you what his name should be. I had a pup a while back for three or four months, before I realized he had a temper like an Angus bull. So, I called him Angus....all twenty three pounds of him !!! :D
One cute pup there! Gotta love beagles! We had a beagle several years ago. Never hunted over them but have always wanted to. Someday.
Beautiful pup. I miss my beagles, I gave them to a friend to hunt with when I deployed with the military. Came home to a friend crying because he lost my dogs when they jumped a rabbit near some train tracks and found a train.
Larry,
How about "Magic," in honor of that special Centaur you and Killie went back and forth about for so long?? :saywhat:
He looks like a fine little fellow. Good luck with your training.
I have a little German Shorthair Pointer that looked birdy in a briar patch when she was a pup. I whoad her but when I walked up Brier Rabbit jumped. I made an almost unheard of good shot and "Lucy" has been pointing rabbits every since. I love it. Rabbit is my favorite wild game food, now if I can just get her to make those wonderful beagle chasing barks.
Nice pup, he'll bring you lots of joy...and a positive headache or two : - )
Bo?
A Magic Bo, cut to scenter?
Bo is too short.
BoBo.
BoBo Skediddledaddle. (Song I heard once that made me giggle)
Ah, a dog will tell you its name if you wait long enough. They don't just blab it to everybody, they have to get to know you first. Even an eager beagle.
Glad you have a dog. I am never at peace without one around. I sure hope you have some bunnies up there, and an older dog to show li'l what's-his-name the ropes. God grant you patience, and your little doggie, much luck.
Killdeer
"Gosh Darn it Dog" is always a good name for a puppy since you are going to be saying it a lot anyway. My GSD did not know his real name until he was about 18 months old.
Good lookin pup. Back in a day I use breed those guys. Miss those cold snowy mornings chasing rabbits.

I like the name.. but Bo, sounds like NO!!! You don't want to encourage bad behavior...
I like simple 2 sylable names that don't sound like commands...
i love the sound of beagles in the morning.great looking pup.
Best dogs on earth as far as I can tell.
nice lookin pup man.
well looks like his name is going to be Jack. because if he ain't sleepin' he's jacked up full of energy. officially, Ira Stations jump em Jack, but we'll just call him Jack for short :) spent almost a year looking for the traits I wanted in a dog, hopefully this guys got them.mostly yellow creek bloodlines. he should hold a good line with medium speed....just right for bow huntin" !!
"Jumpin'" Jack is a fine name for a beagle, Larry.

Love them beagles. He's not fat, just well fed, and besides, he's 12 years old. Still likes to chase stuff in the woods, though, but he's a bit slower nowadays.
When I think about rabbit hunting "Elmer Fudd" always comes to mind. :bigsmyl:
There is not much that is more fun that hunting beagles. I used to handle the dogs for an old man who had at least 100 of them. We hunted 10-15 at a time. Release the hounds! Lot of fun.
However, not much fun if they run a deer and you have to go catch them.
I climbed up a very high tree stand one day and watched the beagles run a swamp rabbit for 30 minutes - it was very enlightening. The rabbit doesn't run much - it darts off and hides until the dogs find it, then repeats indefinitely.
There is nothing like the thrill of a young pup working a line, especially a pup you worked with for months before the season. Chasing hares makes my winters fly by! Lotsa luck! I suggest you whistle train it so you don't spend worrisom nights trying to find it.
Mike
Larry that's a really cute pup you got there, Don't let linc see that one!
Nice pup Larry!! You will have to bring him over for a hunt this winter. I have tons of bunnies this year!! Shawn
Larry, I though youd name him Centaur. My boy is Jack, short for Jackson.Lost a really good local rabbit spot to the bulldozer this year but I hope to get him out somewhere.Yours looks real good.
Shawn, I might take you up on that. we've got enough rabbits around here to get him up and going, but it'd be nice to expose him to some real rabbit country.
call him larry. i had a dog named damnit once.
Izzy you are always welcome too! Plan on it Larry we can get that Guru guy to come too and have some fun!! Shawn
I vote for "Pavlov". As in Pavlov's Dog, but thats just the Psychologist in me. I always thought that his experiments were interesting.
That's a nice looking pup!
Shawn,don't start that inviting stuff!!!LOL
Very cute pup "Hunter" would be a fitting name for what he is bread for.Or you can get in touch with the feminine side and call him "Love".That would go over great with the guys...LOL
one of my goals for this year: To get a rabiit... nice looking pup. I've been seriously thinking of a lemon & white pup! My dad had one as a kid & he was a great dog. Probably why I am partial to the lemon & white :) Good Luck!
I love beagles too!
that is a fine looking pup there
I have a female beagle, she had a litter last week, here are some pics

How well does rabbit hunting work with only a single dog?
I've hunted with packs of 4-5 dogs before, but never a single.
whats the new dog out of(bloodline that is)? Mike
I prefer hunting with a single dog. More dogs invariably leads to long and copious checks. Each dog is trying to gain the lead and as a result overruns are common....at least in my experience. I'd much rather have one dog working a line. the rabbits (hares in my case) are still going to move!
Mike
I'm with MikeS, I've only hunted with one dog at a time, no competition, and just makes life and the hunt alot easier, especially when it time to go home :)
no sent you a pm
What a great looking beagle. Years of fun!!
I may have to consider one myself, then, after my current old pal passes on. I love me some rabbit huntin'!
Fine looking partner you have there.
Big Ed, ya know ya don't need no invite!! Larry, Swampbuck has a new one too, ya both have to come at least one weekend, more bunnies than I have ever seen!! Shawn
oh you know I will!
Nothin better than a good rabbit race with a few beagles just poundin the hair off of them.
I got a pack of bluetick beagles and will alaways have a few around.
Beautiful pup you got there. Can't wait until I pick one up!
Jack
