What do you carry for a day treestand hunt??????
I'm only good for several hours in a treestand, 5 max.
Other than my treestand safety gear, for a hunt like that I would have a bite to eat, a knife, a mini mag flashlight, a pen, my tags, trail marking materials, and sluggers.
Knife wouldn't really be in my pack, it would be on my belt.
And if I could fit all that stuff in my pockets, I wouldn't have a pack.
soon a Sticshooter necker! :bigsmyl: :D :bigsmyl: Gutting gloves, good flashlight, grunt-n-roar deer call, doe bleat, tags(alot of doe tags),cell phone I know but I text the boys what I see, my game ear when I remember it. All in a small fanny pack.
I travel light. I just use the pocket on my arrow master quiver most of the time. spandex facemask, Princeton Tec headlight, field dressing gloves, spare bow string. spare glove, frs radio. My knife is always on my belt where I can reach it. If I feel the need for more gear i.e. limb saw, GPS, grunt tube, scent, water or food. I add the rest of that in a small fanny pack.
thermocell, tags, sharpie, extra string, stringer, knife, stinger flashlight, marking tape, granola bars and water.
In mine, to much stuff. I usually am prepared for any thing and then nothing happens...lol :biglaugh:
Headlight, 2 bottles of water, grunt tube, doe wizz, flagging tape, folding saw & hard candy. Usually nothing more if I'm going to be in a stand, morning & evening. I'll take a book if I'm gonna be there all day.
Keith, ol' buddy... :wavey:
You've got me scratching my head. What is a slugger?
Feelin' like Doofus-
Daryl
Windicater, flashlight, bandana, binoculars (if i have to spot deer down the road) zone bar, wallet with tags and a pen, oh and always a saftey harness, never can be too carefull!!!!!
Always too much. Early season not so bad, but I do have to bone out what I kill and pack it out. So 2 knives, steel, big trash bags. Camera, gps, rattling antlers, grunt tubes, can, limb lights, couple flashlights, extra batteries, limb snippers and folding saw, safety harness, nitro's and aspirin, mints, cord, hat, kitchen sink and that's all I can think of right now. Winter time bout twice that much due to all the heavy clothes I have to haul in. I walk in with just long-johns and insulated bibs. Still soaked with sweat when I get where I'm going. Put my heavy stuff on right before I get to the tree. If I kill something I just leave the heavy clothes in a trash bag under leaves and haul the meat out in back pack.
Early bow season are short hunts a bottle of water, a small bottle of (homemade) scent killer... Maybe a bleat or grunt depending on the season... and as little as possible...
If you leave it at home or in the truck, you'll probably need it!!! I know when I kill a deer I usually have to head back to the truck because I don't have________. But that isn't a bad thing...
Mini Mag light, bow hoist, spare tab, camera, gum & hard candies, grunt tube with snort wheeze & binocs when on stand. Add to that water bottle, a bit of food & small first aid kit when hiking/stalking.
Hi Daryl,
Sluggers are a term we use around our camp for.... how can I put this delicately...... the sanitary paper cloths used to wipe your nether regions... should the need arise.
Sluggers will go to bat for you when you relly need them....
Never leave home without them.

tags, knife,a snack and a flashlight. i like to keep a bare as i can somtimes other than my tags is a knife.
Water, snack, extra knife, small stone, rope/line, compass, game bag, fire kit/, anti-biotic ointment & bandaids, pill bottle (tylenol, aspirin, nitro, benedryl) in fanny pack. Extra strings, stringer, glove, etc in pocket on quiver.
I usually have a towel in a baggie, more water than I'll need, Lifesavers candy, a deer call/ turkey call, a spare knife. a high output and a conservative flashlight, my Minox monocular, some sort of bug repellant, my little hatchet, and some cordage. If I'm hunting in a stand I also take a harness and a hoist line.
Also after last year I added a Wiggy poncho, winter of 2009 was pretty erratic.
