Nice! I love that bear hunt clip!
I enjoy looking back at all of everybodies hunt pics so I thought I would do a little reminiscing of my own!
very nice!
Cant wait to go back to the Moose John, I thought when I went the first time it would be a once in a lifetime trip but after being there I know that is not the case! Spectaculiar trip but in saying that a fella darn sure wants some wilderness skills a guy could get in a bad way quick up there if not careful! Guess that is one of the reasons I loved it so much! True Wilderness!
Nice pics. Got me in the mood to go hunt'n
I really enjoy viewing the photos and videos that Tradgang members put on the forum. It's like being there with them. Thanks Anaconda12.
I was going to reply to the Bison Pacs thread and I see mine in the pic of the whitetail doe! That is an awesome pac had it for about 8 or 9 years now I think tough as nails goes everywhere with me! Ha by the looks of it so does that wool shirt! I really do have two of them and they are both my favorites!
Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for sharing. I always enjoy checking out pics & videos, especially of animals I don't see around here.
This is interesting story I shot this young buck one morning slightly quartering with a complete passthru I watched him go down in maybe 15 seconds I climbed down to get my buddy who was hunting not far away we arrived back to him laying right where I seen him go down no more than 20 - 30 minutes after the shot and this is what we found after coyotes marauded him in that time! Oh I wasnt mad I am sure I would eat a steak if it was throwed in fron tof me as well, but he better keep a close eye on his backtrail in my woods! lol

The bow I used on the Moose John hunt I had Dick Robertson make for that trip and it was a 68# longbow shooting 800 gr. laminated birch arrows with a Magnus 160 gr. head, the sask bear hunt I was shooting a Thunderstick 3 by Jim Reynolds @ 70 lbs. and a heavy carbon shaft (I am a wood shooter) but I lost a bet with a friend that is if outshot me while practicing I would shoot his carbons and if not he would shoot wood, well I lost! they were tipped with 160 gr Snuffers, then all the whitetails except the stonehead selfbow spike were taken with a 53 lb Thunderstick 3 and either bear greenies or snuffers, on laminated birch shafts @ near 700 gr., the selfbow is a 55 lb osage stave I got from Mike Yancey here on the board that I somehow turned into a useable tool, and the heads were knapped by friend Billy Berger of GA. Thanks for all the replies it has been fun stirring up old memories.
Slasher you need to call me!
Great start to the day!!!

Quint, you're so right about getting in a bad way quick if you're not careful. The Alaska bush is an unforgiving land that doesn't tolerate mistakes. I floated the Moose John years ago when Jay Massey operated it, one of the highlights of my bowhunting career.
Great pictures, thanks for the look back.
Excellent, great photos, nice shirt...must be your lucky one...lol!! :notworthy:
Enjoyed it! Thanks for taking us along.
Very nice. :clapper: :clapper: :clapper:

Is that in south ga? I'm way up north almost to TN. We have a big farm 2 driveways below the state line.
Great pics and stories. Really enjoyed them. Any hunting that has a boat of any kind and a River makes things really fun for me.My Wife sometimes calls me Huck Finn...RC

Very cool, thanks for sharing!!! What did the noggin on that bear tape out at?
bohuntr the skull measured 21 11/
16ths, Although I never recorded it or any other animal except for an elk years ago, not that I am opposed to it I just dont bother with the reord keeping system much but usually score deer and elk and antelope just for my own curiosity! Nonetheless he was a true bear of a lifetime!
You know Ron, I was thinking about our conversation we had on the phone before I went to the Moose John, And something stuck in my mind when we chatted about handguns and you told me to have one for river Pirates if nothing else! After being there I can see what you meant there are some rough looking characters on the lower river huh? Anyone that is going or wants to go on that trip has to be very honest with themselves as far as their wilderness skills because up there you just may depend on them to save your life!
 Great Pics !!
Love the pics :jumper:
Great pics, thanks for sharing.
Now that, was an Adventure! Write it up and share the details!
As others have said: great pics and thanks so much for sharing!!
Curious to hear more about river pirates though..
