Ok, it was several Widows! Took the family on vacation to Branson last week so of course I had to stop in at the Black Widow shop in Nixa. It was heaven for a widder lover like myself. I talked with Roger while I drooled over the wall of bows. I shot at least one of every bow they make except the PMA. I fell in love with a 56" 50# PCHX Bocote with an Asbell grip, but of course my wife said :nono: . My second favorite was a 56" 48# PCHII. It was actually a prototype and the one Roger killed his spring black bear with. I had always wanted to pay them a visit and it was the highlight of the trip for me. I would highly recommend stopping by there if you are in the area. Just don't bring your wife. ;)
What happens in Nixa, stays in Nixa!! :saywhat:
I'm glad you had a good time but there's a price to pay. Now you just need to make amends and send the Shrew to Mudd...lol
God bless,Mudd
No way I am stopping in, I aready want another Widow I not even going in the state. They was at the Howard Hill shoot this year and I didn't go in there booth. (12 step program)Okay maybe I stood outside the booth and looked in ,that don't count
Mudd, I still love the Shrew, but Black Widow recurves are my favorite. I traded a psax for my Shrew and I still miss her.
Actually Widows and shrews are very compatible! I shoot mine side by side, they both shoot very close.Definately my two favorite bows. When I stop to take a rest theres no fighting between them,no bickering,Nothing! There both going to travel together this year to Northern Alberta for elk ,so we'll see if they travel well together.
I also love to visit the "Widow Works". This fall, I think it is going to be a Shrew and a Widow going to the woods with me.
Hey I was there a month or so ago. I agree with you totally. He said to me when I told him my name, "Oh I know you, you FAX ALL YOUR ORDERS IN". I was thinking "Hey dude she's right here!!"
Very nice people for sure.....
Joe
I've bought 4 new Widows and 3 new Shrews over the years. Never been to either shop but I'd like to pay a visit to both. Can't beat 'em.
I love my Shrews but can't find a widow I like. The widow I shot the best was a PTF.
I thought I would really like the PTF. It shot good but the PSA's and the PCH's were definatley my favorites.
Widows do shoot nice..I think a PCH may be in my future... Daniel whats your draw length..did you think the 56" was smooth enough did you try a 54"..
aahhhh....to have a widow and a shrew.....aaahhhhh
:notworthy: :notworthy:
Congrats on having 2 nice bows!!!!
The nerve !

Never owned a Shrew, however have had a few Griffins. It was my go to bow for about four years until I recently shot a PSAX, felt like I was cheating. Have a new go to bow.
