I arrived Wednesday and left Sunday morning. Its been several years since my first experience with MOJam and that was a Saturday quick stop. Now I go early and stay late. Keith, Brad and the rest of the Marshall Bowhunters gang do one heck of a job putting together this event - and its FREE!!!
Missed last year and hear they had temps in the 70's but this year was a more typical mid summer weekend in MO. Good thing the cement pond is only a few hundred yards away with free showers and $1 swimming privileges for campers.
Saturday I dug out my camera and started down the hill shooting pics. So, this is a one pass picture record of what a Saturday afternoon looks like at MOJam.
Lots of pictures and I will add a few names (not my strongest suit) as I can.
Starting down the hill. That's Wayne on the left

Possum Lodge camp. The lodge stayed home but the usual suspects (Tim at right and Randy green shirt) were my neighbors.

Lot of work got done in the Possum camp. Wayne (first pic and at right here) even had a fan and lights plugged in so they could work in the heat and after dark.

Across the street my neighbors were Treekiller (Keith from Washington state) with his wife and hound Alex. Keith is a kindred spirit (read grumpy ol' curmudgeon like me) who likes to trade west coast wood and rocks for osage. Thanks for the morning coffee and good visits Keith.

Most of the "vendors" are as casual as this set up. Goose leaning on the truck.

There are some slightly more serious vendors. Fellow Iowegian...

Mike and Mrs Horton (Linda?) from the Nocking Point (TG Sponsors) are real nice folks

There was some swell osage at the Whitetail booth. And as you can see, some high pressure salesman tactics - hot summer MO style...

Lloyd's pop up is gone and new teardrop is in his usual spot. Lloyd at left, Mrs was in the camper doorway most of the weekend, finally figured out why - there's an air conditioner in that thing!

Lots of bow making all weekend

Gary Davis sent some blanks for the scouts but did not attend. Dave from OK worked 18 hours a day helping others make bows. Kudos Dave!

Lots of kids, lots of shooting

Saturday evening is the pot luck and auction. Grab your chair and head for the pavilion area. Three generations of Treekiller clan. Does anyone else see a family resemblance in the expression from granddad to granddaughter?
Auction and clout shoot prizes donated by attendees. The money raised helps the club cover costs and also goes to support archery for kids.

Put the camera back and got my chair for the dinner and auction. One of the coolest things is the kids shoot Saturday afternoon. At the dinner they honor the kids and EVERY ONE of them gets a big trophy. Good work Marshall Bowhunters!
I had a wonderful time, visiting, trading, making shavings and hanging out. Maybe next year it will be medium hot instead of real hot. I'll be there to see.
Great Pics
thanks! looks like you took your walk right after Dustin and I left...

It was good to meet you and see so many folks, both new and "old", at Mojam this year. Yeah, it was a LOT hotter than last year, (especially when I was cooking  ) but a great time anyway...
Great pics, Shaun!!! I've got a few I can add as well!!!
Wasn't quite hot enough, unless you had to split a stave!!!
JoBow!!!!
***Please, no pix wider than 640pixels, thanx*****
We let the kids break in our new Buffler target!!
My buddy Tim carved these shrooms for the auction....The artistry at MoJam never ceases to amaze!!! Or, was it the Jack Daniels....LOL!!!
The Boy Scout troop sure work hard on their bows every year. Glad they made the trip again!!!
****Great pix, please re-size, and re-post, thanx****
Brad, you can set photobucket to import pics at 600 wide, that's what I do so I don't have to figure out how to edit them down once they are in. Looking forward to the pics. And, yeah, Tim did some artful carving on those shrooms!
:wavey: Howdy Shaun, good stuff!! thanks for sharing. Was waiting on truck to get fixed so we could come down to it. But to no avail We sat waiting and still waiting..
Thanks for posting pics. Sorry you couldn't make it, Mr. Vic. Larry
Yea, I thought it was set right...Not sure what's changed. I'll try again later.
