Ordered a Snakebit in July of 2009. Trying to get a feel for where he is at. Has anybody who ordered one in April, May , June, etc of 2009 get theres' yet?
-
I ordered Snakebit in June. Norm told me it would be 15 months -- next August.
-
That's good information for wait times on current orders. Looking more for wait time on orders placed a year ago.
-
Norm is very good about getting back to people. Just send him an email and he will reply promptly.
-
Talked to him the other day and he was going to be gone for awhile on a trip. So if he dosn't respond right away thats why.
-
Bill, last I heard was 13-15 months.
Those Snakebit's are soooooo nice!
-
Last I talked to him, a week or so ago, he told me bows ordered early June would be completing this month and mine (mid June) would be finishing the end of the month into mid August. As stated above, he said he'd be hunting 1 - 10 August. Hope this helps.

I just ordered a snakebit 2 weeks ago. Norm told me 13 - 14 months.
-
I would count on it being right at 15 months from the time that you ordered it until you receive it. I ordered my Snakebit on January 6th 2009 and it was delivered to my door on April 1st 2010.
Well worth the wait........and less than a week after receiving it I was back on his list for an Elite VL.

You were exactly correct. I sent Norm an email and I got an answer back within the hour. And oh man am I excited. He said my bow should ship in Early to Mid September and .... this is the part that get's me... Norm said "I look forward to making your bow. I've got some really fantastic Snakewood in stock." Can you imagine Norm saying something looks fantastic? Oh boy...
-
Yeah, he tells everyone that.....
No really, if Norm says it you can believe it.

Go to the following link and click on Snakebit Bows. You'll see some sample pics of the Snakebit bows there. The primary wood in the riser is Snakewood. He also foots the limbs with Snakewood.

One of the finest bows ever built.
Sounds like your ready for your bow Bill. What configuration did you go with? The Elite VL I had at Denton Hill performs every bit as well as my Snakebit. Norm's got it goin on!
-
Bill, you'll be lost on your Snakebit. They are for sure the most appealing bow ever made secon only to the Bighorn special edition 2000,that had the ebony and snakewood as well.I received mine in April after some 16 mos waiting.
-
Hum??? How much of a down payment you gots to make on one of them there bows??? 15 months you could spread out the payments pretty easy???
-
You got the right idea String Cutter. $100 down and make payments monthly. It'll be paid off before the bow ships!
-
I could never wait that long for a bow. Way too many others out there with a lot shorter wait time!

Somethings are worth the wait!
Take grand babies for example. I'm told they are worth the wait.
I guess I'll find out if and when she arrives...lol
God bless,Mudd

Blacktail bows are worth the wait. I've got two of them. The wait is a killer, but the bows shoot like a dream for me. I will never sell them even if I was desperate for money.

I picked up my Blacktails via the secondary market. I was very lucky to find a mint Snakebit as they do not become available very often (Thanks again Greg!). I think I have seen two Snakebit's for sale in my entire time here. It would take a "life altering" event in order for me to offer my Blacktails for sale.

Mudd,
You are correct about the grand children. Definitely worth the wait! My daughter delivered our 2nd (her 1st child) in England yesterday around 5am Kentucky time. His name is Drake. His Dad is in the Air Force. I'm hoping he is left-eye dominant and likes beautiful wood combination recurves! Sounds like my snakebite ordered a couple of months ago should come around August or September next year unless a lefty with my draw weight preference backs out before then!
-
I called Norm to see if he had any try before you buy bows?? He didn't and doesn't really keep any around for that ??? I just hate the idea of spending that kinda money for a bow that I've never even shot??? Add to that I am a lefty and don't think I've ever even seen one at all the shoots that I've been to? Let alone a lefty??? Is there Any lefties out there l could borrow their BT for a week or so?? LOL
