Snakeskin limbs are intriguing to me. Anyone have any pics to share of their snakeskin limbs along with riser pics that go with them? I gather that Diamondback seems to be the most popular (for obvious reasons...they're sweet lookin!). What other species work well on bows? It seems that Morrison does a lot with snakeskins. Any pics of copperhead limbs out there? I'd love to see any pics of any skins...Thanks in advance!
Here is my Morrison ILF. Bocote/ebony riser w/ dark copperheads. They had watersnake, but I didn't like them so I re-did them.

Wow. Already, some beautiful pics!
Prairie Drifter, Great lookin combos. I like the dark copperhead skin. Havent seen them much. That Bullsnake job really made your daughter's bow look great!
A.S., Love your combos as well! Seems like the copperhead skins really compliment what looks like maybe a cocobolo riser? Rattler skins look sharp, and love the wood burn pic of the buck on the riser!
ishoot4thrills, Really nice combo of copperhead and osage...is that right? Beautiful bow!
In all cases here, it seems like the skins have a nice natural camo effect as well. Thanks for sharing! Any others?

Here's a couple of my sweethearts! One with copperhead skins and the other with diamond back skins! I just love a skinned bow!
Gobblegrunter, that Morrison riser is Macassar ebony with Kingwood flare.
I had a local trophy shot ingrave the buck into the ACS riser...it looks pretty cool.
Unfortunately, both of these bows have fallen victom to my incessant bow trading!! :banghead: They have both found good homes though!
Grateful for all of the responses. I really like the matching skinned quivers on the pics from both Hoser and jimmerc...Nice lookin set-ups! Thanks guys!
Here is my Morrison ILF with cottonmouth snake skins.

I'll show my ignorance... where is a good place to find some skins?
I would like to put some on my Kodiak Mag but just haven't looked into it.
*** I will leave my original posting for laughs... but what I meant was where is a good place to BUY skins. :knothead:
I am betting the best place to find them would be on a snake. :bigsmyl:
Pine Hollow Longbows is a great source for skins. They are a sponsor here.
Cottonmouths make a sweet lookin skin too. I HATE live snakes, but sure do like 'em on bow limbs! Geez, I still havent even received my very first longbow yet, and I'm already plannin' out my next bow (or my next set of limbs anyway)...
:bigsmyl:
Guess I'll wait a few months in order to avoid divorce :p

Great Northern Critter Getter Special, 58"er. GN does some of the very best snake skin jobs I've ever seen. These copperheads are flawless.

Here's one a little different. Saharan rock viper on a hickory bow I made for my wife:

foxbo, what wood is the bow made of? (I'm probably showing my ignorance). The skin and that wood match almost perfectly! Very nice.
BEN, that is different, and very cool. Never heard of it, but think its very sharp!
Took this Morrison ILF with copperheads to Colorado last Sept.

gobblegrunter,
The Critter Getter is crafted of all osage and it does match the skins perfectly. It may be looking for a new home as it's too pretty for me to take into the woods, or even think of attaching a bowquiver.

These really are all great lookin' bows. I'd be proud of them all! I'm thankful for the great variety of pics.
I bought this Bob Lee Elite and skinned it for my wife for her birthday last year.

Foxbo, that combination is one of the best I've seen. I'm contemplating what riser/limb wood for my next GN Ghost.
How long ago did Jerry make your Critter Getter Special? I know he will use diamondback skins on his bows, but have never seen copperhead skins...talk about gorgeous! I think I'm going to have to ask him at GLLI this year! :)
They make pretty bows, but I hate snakes LOL... I don't know that I could have a bow like that. Guess it's a bad phobia. Very nice looking though!!

Beautiful stuff guys I need some snakey limbs!
Just got a pair of diamond backs from Mike Yancey to do my longbow. My next one will be with bull snake skins...I love those!
One I made this spring for a buddy of mine. Western diamondback skins from Mike Yancey at Pine Hollow Longbows. My first attempt at skinning a bow and it turned out nice.

Nice job, jsweka. Looks great!
Beautiful bow, Brock!
What kind of python is that, LoneWolf73? Is it Burmese or Ball python? Looks like a Ball python donated his skin to me. Pretty cool!
