Headed to Greenville SC next week on business, and see it's not too far from National Forests and was wondering if the was a huntible population of wild hogs on public land in the area and if so does it take a hunting license to hunt them in SC, NC, or GA?
If not hogs, is there anything else to hunt down there at this time of year?
Thanx
Check out the SC DNR site. There's no open seasons right now on the WMAs around here (upstate, South Carolina).
There are some areas in the lower part of the state that are open, though. You'll need a non-resident license and a WMA permit. You're also looking at a 3 hour drive to get to them, too.
Also, it's been really hot lately. I don't think it would be wise to try a hunt alone in this heat.
Maybe someone else can chime in on NC and Georgia.
Thanx much guys.... What about bowfishing?
I don't know of any around Greenville. The few times I've been around here were after our fields flooded. We're in a drought now, so, that's not happening.
There's just not much opportunity to hunt game with a bow around here right now.
looper - What about archery ranges?
Thanx
