Title: Finally got it figured out! Silver flame and KME-
Post by: KSdan on July 19, 2010, 03:33:00 PM
OK-  most of you probably have this resolved/figured out, but I was at Compton and another guy told me he had the same frustration- "How do I get Silver-flames re-sharpened with the KME?"  (Everything else has sharpened with much ease!)

Finally. . .

What a tool!  Thanks again KME.      :clapper:

were you using the knife or the broadhead sharpener? I want to get one of them so that I can for once get my broadheads and knife razor sharp but since I only have the money for one I was wondering if the knife sharpener will also sharpen any broadhead

I use vertical (crossed) crock sticks to repair hair-shaving edges on 2-blade broadheads. Have you tried these (anyone) on the Silver Flame?  If the crock sticks won't work on these heads (I'm considering them) I wouldn't use them.

Sorry- Knife sharpener.

Gosh I will be curious to see if anyone uses crock sticks for these.  I have a set of ceramic crock sticks, but after using sticks and other sharpeners for 25 years+ - IMO there is nothing even close to KME.

Thanks Dan. I've never used KME. I've always used large diamter ceramic crock sticks for sharpening 2-blade broadheads and knives. I've used stones for 3-blade heads but it takes forever to get the edge I want.

I just got my KME. Its is the best thing I have purchased in a long time. I thought my broadheads and knives were sharp before, there is no comparison with the KME. Here's a little tip to justify the price with your wife. Tell her you will sharpen all of her kitchen knives. I took my wifes favorite kitchen knife and in a few minutes had it razor sharp. She was happy and even said "why didnt we buy one of these a long time ago".
