Post by: RedTx on May 10, 2007, 03:57:00 PM
Ok fellas im getting a fletching jig.  What do I want right, left, straight.  Is it more of a personal choice more than anything.  I shoot right handed if that makes nay diffrence.

I have both left and right clamps for mine and I can't see any difference worth talking about.

The only thing about left that I'm aware of is it can contribute to loosening right-hand-thread screw-in tips, as they rotate against each other.

Flightwise, I'd say no difference, unless your feather has some unintended contact on the shelf.

I bought a righty to switch, but don't have any righty fedda's yet, so I haven't proven my theories out too much, so take it all with a grain of salt...

Take Care,
Marc

You usually have more color choices in the left wing feathers from some suppliers. The only down side to my knowledge is the tendency for screw-in points to loosen up,as Marc stated.
