Been looking at getting me a case for my takedown longbow and have looked at a lot of products as well as thinking of building my own out of pvc. Anyone have any good reviews of a case. I like the looks of the ones in 3rivers and I beleive they are 4 inches in diameter but I'm a little worried about fitting in my riser and both limbs. I don't necessarily need one for airport travel just want to break my bow down to throw on my pack horse. Open to any suggestions and/or ideas. Have always held my bow in my hand while I led my packstring in but thats getting a little old.
NOt sure if it matters but I shoot a 62" pronghorn.
I use a Safari Tuff Rhino and absolutely love it ,very well padded, goes over your shoulder and you don't even know its there.Best of luck.
3Rivers has some nice ones that roll up if you are concerned about the diameter of the case.

I really like their cases.

Another vote for the Safari Tuff Rhino. It's perfect to throw in a duffel or suit case for airline travel and will be great on a pack horse as well.

Love my Safari Tuff Rhino!
I really like my Safari Tuff Rhino as well. Very well thought out and constructed.
For a hard case, it is difficult to beat the DLX Take-Down Recurve Travel Case. It works great for 3 piece longbows too, and even for many 2 piece longbows. It has a 6 inch diameter and can even hold arrows up to about 30.5" without points or broadheads. The Safari Tuff soft cases are great too if you don't need the protection of a hard case. I have the Rhino cases and the Gazelle cases. The Gazelle cases are a little more protective, but the Rhino cases fold out and give you some flexibility for uses that the Gazelle will not accommodate. Any of the cases will fit in a 36" duffle bag. When flying on an airline with my checked luggage being a duffle bag, I always use my 3 Rivers DLX Take-Down Recurve Travel Case. I don't trust the airlines not to damage a bow in a soft case unless the soft case is packed in hard-sided baggage.

Hey James, When I got my "special" three piece from Herb, I bought a case from him with the Pronghorn logo on it. Nice classy case. You'll like it.
