drove down south today to do a lil pig hunting and even though it was boiling outside, it was great!! i shot this 240# boar and a lil 50# sow. i used my hoyt dorado 45# at the clicker and 450 gr. bemans with some razor sharp stingers....and really after the kill i had to find a place to lay down...never have i felt so close to passing out from the heat.
btw- conan is a great guide! thanks for setting us up don.

Great pics, good job. Gonna be some good eating! :clapper:
Nice! :clapper:
How about some more details on your hunt. We need a good story. Love to hunt some hogs some time. Where did you drive down? I thought in AL you would be down already and used to the heat. Northern guys like me wilt in the heat. Last week mid 90's and a lot of humidity almost kept me inside and not shooting my bow. Almost. :D
that thing is BIG
im in north alabama and we have hogs but further south is where the numbers are. and yeah im use to the heat and humidity somewhat...but man yesterday was 95 degrees, no breeze, and that real thick humid air! and as far as details....well i shot the boar at about 15 yards steppily quartering away, so much so that it just zipped his side open before entering. followed up with an 18 yard shot, that was slightly quartering away. my lil 450 gr. carbon buried to the fletching and exited on the edge of his shield. i wish i had a pic of his shield, it was about 2.5 to 3" thick!! and as far as the lil piggies goes...well it didnt take much:)
Sweet  :archer2:
Congratulations on your hunt! Thanks for sharing.
Did you use the 2 or 4 blade Stingers? Pretty impressive with a light tackle set up!
2 blade only.
bmb, that is some serious pork for a 95 degree and 95% humidity day! We had one like that here in North TX yesterday too. Sweat stays right on you and no cooling, just get more and more soaked. Good going to get out there amongst them on a day like yesterday and be that successful.
:archer: :clapper:
That is a great pig.. Congrats> Putting up with the heat can be a real test.
i think the only easy part about hunting in the heat is you know the hogs are either in the shade or most likely in the water holes. if it wasnt for that hope then i wouldnt be going:)
Looks like you made the best of the heat.
Congratulations!
God bless,Mudd
PORK CHOPS!!!
Good shooting.
Nice shooting Brandon, great looking pigs.
here a real pig hunter great job
Thanks for sharing. The part I really enjoyed hearing was your setup. So many people on here preach that you can't kill anything unless you have a 600 grain arrow! Real results with light pounds and 450 grain arrow!
Crank up the BBQ, stoke up the smoker-Looks like RIBS Are On The MENU. :bigsmyl:
Good shooting. Was the swooning from heat or was it from looking at how much weight you had to move.
Thanks for sharing.
Butch L
Well-done!
thanks everybody!!
:clapper: :clapper: cool pics
Great hogs. Now when is the BBQ :clapper:
Nice looking boar...good job!
ribs are going on thursday:) and backstrap is going on the grill tomorrow.
Where are the rattlesnake pics? :saywhat:
Good lord what a pig!!!!
im glad i dont have pics of any rattlesnakes! thank the good Lord!! i absolutely hate snakes:)
Good job . No snake pics is always a good thing. I`ve not seen a snake my last two outings. RC
last time i saw a snake was about a month ago while shooting some frogs in a farm pond.
Good job.Where they were when you get the shots?
they were under some blackberry bushes about 30 yards from the only water around.
Thanks for sharing, and congrats!

Congrats!
Great pics- congrats, I'm pretty sure I would have passed out. Good to hear about the stingers, I am thinking of using them this year for deer.

Good lookin piggies...great kill and lots oh meat got the freezer.
Congrats
Looks like you put some good shots on them. Congrats
yes the magnus 150 gr. stingers are GREAT! they came razor sharp and i like that they are sharpened on the backside too. if the arrow doesnt pass thru, it does a TON of damage b/c its constantly cutting.
Congrats and thanks for taking us along on your hunt.
Some fine Hog's there, well done
