I was flipping through some older Trad Bowhunter mags, and came across articles by Monty Browning.
(a great cape buff story, and others)
I don't recall seeing anything new from him. Anyone know what he is doing these days?
(I did a search, didn't see much)
Thanks,
Rich

I saw Monty last month at the Appling Bowhunter Festival. He and his wife own a travel agency in Clemson, SC. I heard that he has a tract of land in Georgia and has built or is building on it. He is a super nice guy.

I know what he'll be doing May 25,26,27. He'll be at the North Carolina Traditional Archery Championship shoot.
Details are here (http://thecta.org/state.html) .

Yep, my 3 kids got to hike, shoot and talk with Monty at the Appling Archery Festival in GA, and listen to some great stories from him. The man sure can tell a story - he told the gathering the Alaska Solitude 2 story. Wish I could see and hear him again over the Memorial Day shoot near Hickory, NC but we have other plans. What a bowhunter!

Monty is Top Notch!

One of the best speakers/storytellers I have ever heard. A true gentleman, also.

I met Monty at the Iowa Bowhunters Banquet in March, he was our guest speaker.
Enjoyed his time on stage.

Funny, I was reading a old PBS mag the other day and also was wondering about him.. wasnt there a rumor of him doing a book or something?? I would be among the 1st to buy one!!

His article in TBM about a year ago, Alaska Solitude 2, was one of my all time favorite hunting articles. He's definitely one of the great guys in traditional bowhunting.

He spoke at the P&Y Banquet a couple weekends ago.

I heard something about him working on a book here on tradgang. That would surely be a great one, wouldn't it?

You should go by his wife's travel agency in Clemson! She has a lot of his trophies in the front window. I've gone in a couple of times just to look. Simply awesome!

He says he is actually learning how to type on a computer so that he can work on the book!
