With thunderstorms and rain forcasted, we decided to hit the river very early to take advantage of the early activity, and hopefully beat the rain.
Cade decided he'd sleep in, so I met Gary K. and Glenbo at the river. We separated to work diff. parts of the water.
After about an hour and a half the thunder was rolling and the rain had started. Time to get off the water!

As I was walking toward the trucks, I could see them coming from the opposite way. They'd also had some shooting...

Unfortunately the rain didn't last as long as everyone hoped(very. very dry around here). By early afternoon it had stopped, and the humidity was stifling, but Cade and I decided to have some more fun and hit a local pond...

As you could see by those pix, the farmer is pumping water out of the pond to save his apples...we need rain!
Another shot he made good on with his little longbow almost parallel to the ground...

I should have him stop by my house. We have a big ol bullfrog in the pond that drives my wife and I nuts at night with the constant calling! Can't even have the windows open.
one frog below the arrow nock - the other at 2 o'clock or so from the nock?

Man, that kid is a killin' machine. Great shooting Cade! Curt, how did the legs turn out?
That one frog must have been trying to disguise himself as a 3D target, sitting on a rock like that! Come to think of it, wouldn't that make a heck of a 3D challenge? Anyone for making styrofoam frogs? 8^)
Seriously, I am so envious of you guys who have close by carp and frog shooting... what fun.
Great shooting guys. It won't be long and Cade will be in a pic with a nice buck the way his shooting.

Wow! Awesome pics! Great shooting as well, both of ya.
Good stuff! Congrats to Cade for some great shooting!
I am a little bummed by these frogging threads. I went to one of the Wildlife Mgt Areas here in NJ to do a little frogging and bumped into a F&G officer. He told me I can't shoot them with a bow.
Seems I mis-read the regs. While bow isn't on the list of prohibited weapons, it is not on the list of allowed either. By default, if it is not on the list, it is "off".
I live on small lake and may be reduced to being a law-breaker if I see one more of these threads.
Good shooting Cade! It doesn't get any better than that guru. :campfire:
Oh great! Now I'm hungry!
Great job my friends!
Do you hear Carp-A-Geddon calling??? It could be time for a "Carp-A-Palooza".

I'm telling you Big Ed! Those do look great. Cade and Curt are going to have to shoot a whole lot more before they can invite you and I for dinner. I know your no small guy and I didn't get this fine figure by being a light eater!
