I have been shooting bows for 56 years, and today is our 51st wedding aniversity, and this is my 1,000 post on Tradgang.
My kinfolk in England were archers at the battle of Againcort. Several Denton's were bowmen.
I was 20 and Phyllis Ann was 19 when we got married, and I took my 70# Ben Pearson bow and arrows with us to Colorado on our Honeymoon. On our wedding day me, my best man and all my buddies went rabbit hunting with our bows.
I just created a web site here on TradGang called Arrow Adventures. Hope you will check it out. Ken (http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z318/arrow39/DSCN0911.jpg) (http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z318/arrow39/DSCN0848.jpg)

good luck on the web site as well
Ken and Phyllis Ann,
Congratulations on such an accomplishment of 51 years of marriage, Most of all that is a tremendous testament to your dedication to each other. 1000 posts on Tradgang is very nice, but the example you both set for all to admire is something that is truly traditional. When the relationships of our Great-Grandparents and Grandparents used to stay together through thick and thin("for better or worse"). My utmost admiration and respect goes out to both of you.
Thanks for setting a great example for us all to see.
Respectfully.

(http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z318/arrow39/DSCN02281.jpg)Could not find any wedding day hunt photos, but this one is close to that date with my 70# Pearson, and I don't have it anymore.
I made the back quiver, armguard, and HH finger tabs. Notice the bowstring has brush buttons and no string silencers? Ken

What a wonderful life of hapiness and shooting.

Congratulations on all counts! You must have a fine woman there. I just had 41 years with my wife. Nothing like a good woman to share your life with! Congrats again.
Congratulations to you both!
Congrats Ken , Quite an acomplishment ! I almost blew it on my 25th anniversary . When she asked me how it felt I said like 25 minutes , under water . My Goodwife and I have just celebrated 39 years but I don't think she's gotten over it yet . I've got to watch my step .
Congratulations! You've made the 1000th post very meaningful. I celebrate 45 years in archery this year and 32 years of marriage next week.
Congratulations Ken to you and Phylis Ann may there be many more years.
Congratulations to you and your lovely wife. Have a great anniversary!
congratulations on all counts !
Ben
Maybe I'm confused,
Is Phyllis your daughter..
She does not look near 75, and I'm sure you don't either. Congrats, Something for us newcomers to aspire to. Also, any tips for getting a spouse to take up archery? I've planted the seed, but maybe I'm not watering it enough :)
