I confess to being a Howard Hill junkie, love the legend, and really love the bows. So I was looking on the Howard Hill Archery site, looked over his stock bows, emailed Craig and I settled on a 62" 75@28 Half Breed with an extra bamboo lam, brown glass on the back, clear on the belly, cocobolo on the riser. First bow I've had with brown glass, have to say I really like it, works well with the two yew laminations.
I will admit I was influenced by the recent 100lb bow posts. In the past the heaviest I went with was a 72@26 Morrison Cheyenne. I could never shoot that bow, really worked at it but I could not settle in at anchor.
Unboxed the Half Breed, limbered up with a elastic tube, and went to my outdoor range.........Smooth to anchor, not a hint of stack......Awesome!!!!
Pics coming soon, this bow rocks. Super thanks to Craig Ekin, I am super proud to own this bow.

Looks like I will have to get on down to Hamilton, MT and shoot some of the bows a bit to see first hand.

That's a good looker, I'm a Hill junkie myself :archer2:
If you're crazy, there are an awful lot of us in the asylum with you! Nice bow, congratulations.

Likin' the look of those layered laminations.
Shoot straight, Shinken

Good one LongStick64! Interesting u all can get such service. Half a dozen inquiries over a 2 mths to receive no response whatsoever from Howard hill bows. Like u'rs an RW's tho, got some more picts?
Divecon10,
What? Are you saying that you have tried to reach Craig Ekin and no response? If so, I can get Craig on the phone for you.
Craig's service is excellent. So, there must be a wrench in the works.
Appreciate that RW. At least I could get their web site and Questionnaire. A couple of other sites inc. Lightning are not available to me here, at least with my server and not being the sharpest knife in the draw with the tech other issues contend. Q's to bowyers have several times set me straight. A workable e-mail w'd be good, u know mine.
Cheers
Yep Matt, all you my friend.
Divecon, Craig is very reachable by email, make sure you are going to www.howardhillarchery.com (http://www.howardhillarchery.com)
As for Craig, I believe he has modified the grips by making them thinner than the other Hill bows I've had. Which I really like. Older Hills had a somewhat chubby round grip, with this narrow style it really helps with the "perceived" handshock. And that is what is really impressive, 75lbs and very little handshock, not enough to even think about it.
Craig Ekin: 1-406-363-1359.
His son Jason usually answers the phone.
Email: email@howardhillarchery.com
Craig answers the emails. He usually does it late at night. I often hear from him around midnight CST.
I will let Craig know you are trying to reach him.
Matt
Paul,
Are you in Australia? If so, you'll be needing a take down for shipping.
I sent and email to Craig and gave him your email address.
You have his number and email now as well. Good luck.
Matt
