Title: ILF set up help
Post by: David Sapp on July 10, 2010, 06:49:00 PM
Howdy All-
I've just assembled my first ILF bow. It's a Morrison 17" metal riser, long BM Carbons 45# for a 62" recurve. I draw to 30". I'll likely start off shooting a center rest style flipper since I haven't shot one in years. I shoot split finger. 31" Feathered 5575s with 225 in front.

Just looking for some ballpark numbers on how folks have set similar rigs up. Brace height, nocking point, what style/distance silencers are set at. I'll have a chance to shoot it tomorrow and was hoping to save a bit of experimentation time by asking what has worked for others.

Thanks!

David

David,

Sounds like a sweet rig.  I'm putting together one of our 17" Epic risers with our static curve longs for the same 62" bow.  Looking for about 53# at my 30.5" draw.

So it looks like sister bows from different parents.  LOL

Start the BH at 7.5 and the nock at 1/2".

That's where ours like to start.

Sounds like sisters from different misters.

Thanks Mike, appreciate your help. Hoping to see some of your limbs and risers at the TN IBO next weekend. Will y'all have a booth? I have a stave that I bought from you a couple years ago, have a couple questions to pick your brain on.

Yep we'll be there with both the bows and the knives.  Stop by and try some out.

Nock point will depend on your tiller. For split finger I like a 1/8" pos tiller and about 1/8" to 1/4" above center nock. For me,the greater the pos tiller the higher my nock has to be.
