Hi all,
I've got a new bow on the way so decided to make a few bits and pieces to welcome it. The bow case is made from giraffe skin (the orange colour leather) with elephant skin accents. The dark armguard on the left is made from elephant skin, and the tan coloured one from hippo skin.

I love the character, cuts and scratches in game skin leather!

Broadhead wallet is made from goat skin, and the string keeper from elephant skin...still needs some cord attached to it though.

The next three pics were done by two local artists, I supplied the leather but they did the artwork. I was thinking of stitching the embossed "badges" into armguards, or maybe onto another bow bag if I make one.

The paintings are really cool, from a distance they look completely lifelike. Im a bit afraid of actually using the armguards though and scuffing the paint...anyone know of a way to protect the artwork, maybe with a thinned down varnish or similar?
Hope you enjoyed!
They all are works of art,but I really like that hippo skin are guard.
Absolutely stunning. You and the others are very talented indeed. Varnish used by oil painters on canvas should work on the arm guard art work also.

The velcro straps will hold the limbs and the way the zips are done means I can open the bag out flat to use it as a mat when putting the bow together...bit tricky getting it closed but once you get the zips started its ok. The leather lining is chrome tanned goats leather with the shiny side showing...I think the next one will have the suede side showing.
Very very nice,congrats.
Very very nice work
Nice work! Where'd you get the various leathers?
Very nice
Those are awesome!
Vter I get the leathers from a local tannery here, you have to have a special permit to purchase game skins since dealing in them is controlled by CITES.
you are unbelievable! Thats some awesome work.
Beautiful gear. The artwork is very impressive too. I especially like the broadhead pouch. Were these all skins from animals you took?
