I always shot aluminum up until about 4 years ago. I first started with the Rhino's until I noticed Axis were cheaper. I'm looking at buying another dozen axis but the cost will be around $140.00. I shoot the 400's with a 100 grain insert. Would love to hear suggestions on good quality carbon arrows with same grains per inch but cheaper.
They're tons of them that are cheaper. Finding some that are the same weight shouldn't be too hard.
The Beman ICS bowhunters I use are a full 1.3gpi lighter in the .400 spines
That adds up to 39gr on a 30" arrow.
At well less than 1/2 the price I absolutely love 'em. (I'm on a budget though.)

X2 on the Beman ICS Bowhunters. Excellent price. Excellent quality. Tough as nails.
Gold Tip Trad blems, 40 a dozen, about 60 for non blems, great old school carbon
Look into Gold Tip Expedition Hunter 5575. 8.2gpi, shafts go for about $55 a dozen. The crested versions are 8.6gpi and go for about $65 a dozen.
Carbon express heretage, Gold tip trads. Go to the Stu's spine calculator and plug in the different arrows it will give you a rough idea what will work.LCH
You can get the new axis's from kustom king for $95.00 if you order over the internet. with shipping I only paid $105.00. Frank
Thanks guys for all the info. It took me awhile to switch to carbons but once I did I love them. HOwever, due to the price I haven't been able to shoot a bunch of different types/brands so when I got the axis flying like darts I decided that was my arrow. However, due to stump shooting, 3d shooting, rabbit hunting, plain ole' misses, and everything else it seems like I go through a dozen arrows in a year. My buddy is playing with wood arrows and hope to get into them when I have more time. Once again thanks guys for taking the time to reply and provide me with the info.

James,if you foot the front of your arrow with a 1" piece aluminum arrow and a 1/2" piece at the nock end,you will have a tough time breaking one.I have been shooting mine a lot over 2 1/2 years and have yet to break one.
I shoot the Beman bow hunter 400 and GT trad blem 5575. Both great cheap arrows. I think the Beman may be a bit more consistent on spine, but the GT is more durable.
I'm always on the lookout for used arrows on here. I've bought almost all of my Beman Classics right here on this website. I won't even consider using any other carbon arrow.
