I have heard some people ask if self bows would last for very long so I decided to show off a couple.
In these videos you'll see two bows.
One is a "plum Limb" bow made by Tim Baker. I got this bow from Tim at the very 1st MoBoJam in 1999.
That would make this an old self bow but in reality its older than 1999.
The "plum" bow appears in Volume 1 of the Traditional Bowyers Bible so it had to be made by Tim before TTB went to print.
You can judge for yourself if it's still a good shooting little bow.
The second bow was made by L.E. Stemmler out of New York somewhere between 1915 and 1920. I got this bow for my to-be-grand daughter Brindlee.
She will be here sometime between now and July 30th.. according to the powers that be. But she looks like she could show up at any time now..lol

Thanks for watching!
God bless,Mudd
Cool Mudd!
Pretty good Roy.
I finally got the courage to put a scale to the "plum" bow and much to my amazement it pulled 44@20. I couldn't bring myself to draw it further..
No guts... no glory!!
God bless,Mudd
Hey Mudd, some lines from one of my favorite movies about another Missouri boy come to mind. When Josey Wales asked the old indian chief if he had any food, the chief said "All I have is a piece of hard rock candy. But it's not for eatin'. It's just for lookin' through."
That old Tim Baker bow is not for pulling, it's for lookin' at. Take care of that piece of bow hunting history, and more important, get ready to spoil that little granddaughter when she gets here!
