Title: Medievel style field points?
Post by: Jon Stewart on July 08, 2010, 07:05:00 PM
Anyone know where in America I can buy medievel style filed points like the bodkin, medheads and victorian.  There is a place in Texas but he wants like $6.00 per head.

Jon,

Are you looking for hand-forged?

I have hand-forged ones that I use to get from Historic Enterprises that I use on display arrows, but for medieval arrow target practice I use the   Ace Classic Points (http://www.bowsite2.com/aceshopping/product1.asp?SID=2&Product_ID=149) , which have a bodkin profile:   They are conical in form instead of pyramid like the ones 3 Rivers are now offering.

If you are looking for forged ones and track down a source, please let us know.

All three of these places are good. I have several from 3 Rivers. They are 190 gr. I have flight arrows with the heavy bodkins from Rudder Bows. They are all great. Value for the dollar appears to be with Ace Classic Points, but all in all it is close.

I use my bodkins at 3 D shoots. Same hole as a field point but sticks in better. Plus, something to talk about.
