Looking for a drawing or design of a stone point arrowhead for a tattoo.
Burned myself pretty bad on the inside of my arm couple weeks ago from a lawn tractor exhaust while loading it onto the back of a pickup and am scarred for life. I'm 50 years old and currently tattooless, but anyhow, thought I'd get one to help cover the scarring after the burn heals. Been searching the internet without much luck of finding a design I like (I know, hard to believe) and thought maybe someone here might want to share a logo or something of a stone point from maybe there sportsmen's club or something to trace.

Those burns take a loooooooooooooooong time to completely heal. Just make sure that it is completely healed before letting anyone tattoo it. It's still probably gonna be a pretty painful experience.

Zbone- make sure the Tattoo Artist is trained in working over scars, alot of them won't even try. I have one locally that has done it (I'm looking at a large one on my back to cover about 10"-12" of surgical scars). Good Luck in your search.

Yup-what Butch said. Any good tattoo artist will want to know about the burn and ensure complete healing before even trying to tattoo over it. Depending on the scar, the tattoo may even look different when it hits your unharmed skin. Oh, and as for placement-if it's on the inside of your biceps, you'll definitely notice when he gets started :) . Good luck and hope all goes well.

Yeah, gudspeir it is in a very sensitive location on the inside of my tricep about halfway between my elbow and wrist. Have a feeling (pun intended) it's not going to be a very pleasant experience...8^)
Came up with my own design using a modern broadhead and the 4Winds symbol and had an offer from a fine gentleman here to create me a design, but being inexperienced at this, any recommendations of who to send my design to in order to create the tracer (do know the correct name) they stick on skin to embed the tattoo?

The Tattoo Artist will transfer it to the paper in their shop. You can take them a picture on any kind of paper.
I have a couple of tattoos, one I took a picture out of a hunting magazine. The next time My daughter printed some arrows for Me on the computer and I just took the printer paper to them.

Look at Woody Blackwells' flint knapping. None better I believe. You could use a pic of one of his points. I believe he goes by kniferiver.
a good source for drawing's of points are those by Val Waldorf from "A Story in Stone" or the poster of the points from that book. I think I've seen it at 3Rivers or you can check out flintknapper's corner. The overstreet guide to collecting arrowheads probably covers the biggest variety of points in photo that I am aware of

Another excellent source would be "Stone Age Spear and Arrow Points of the Midcontinental and Eastern United States" by Noel D. Justice. All of the different point styles are shown in drawing form while still having photos of many of the styles. If you have a library near you they may have it and if they done not they can surly get it on an inter library loan. If you want to purchase try ABE.com
make sure to look at the tattoo artists portfolio. it may seem as though it's no big deal getting a tattoo. but, this is something that is permanent (short of getting it laser removed). shop around. not all artists have the same talent. don

Listen to Winterhawk! might be a better area to get a tatt and just tote the scars as is. Or wait a couple three yrs to get a tatt cover up.
