This is my first attempt at a Build-along that is both easy and inexpensive. I no longer store my feathers in plastic baggies.

My son gathered these at the local park for me. They are free and it's his way of recycling.

Remove the label (optional) but it comes in handy later so you can see the feathers.

Remove the feathers from the baggies and place in the empty container.

And the finished product is a container that keeps feathers dry and clean while allowing you to see the size and color for easy access.

I have to give credit to my son for coming up with the idea. Give it a try and if you don't have access to a tennis court let me know and I'll have my boy gather you a few and send them your way.

That's a great idea! Looks like I'm going to be skulking around some tennis courts.
Thanks, Guy

can you fit a full length in there?
-
great idea

V I Archer, full length are about 3/4" too long. I guess you could clip a little off to make them fit.
-
I'm an avid tennis player and never thought of storing them this way. I've thrown away hundreds of these ball cans. El Stupido!
VI Archer, you could cut them to length and store them before grinding them/stipping them. Or finish them as you aquire and then store them.

I use the plastic containers that Skippy PB comes in. The real large ones work for cut feathers and the smaller ones are good for those "100 count" bags of nocks I must always have on hand.
For full length I have some very large plastic boxes I "aquired" from the Wifes tupper ware collection.

NOW WE HAVE TO FIGURE OUT A WAY TO RECYCLE THE PLASTIC BAGS!! :biglaugh:
