Well, finally couldn't take it anymore and sold a bunch of stuff to pay for a new TallTines recurve  I'm thinking 57#@30", 62-64". I think I want Brazilian Rosewood on the throat side of the riser, with maybe Phenolic or something very dark on the front with antler bolts and black glass on the limbs.
I'd love to see some pics of different woods on you guys' TT bows to help me make my decision for sure....can never see too many pics!
Thanks!
Craig
Here's mine....Ziricote riser with myrtle limbs, antler nocks also have antler TD knobs.

I just got my 2nd TT last Friday.
Brian wanted to do something a bit different on this one, so I pretty much told him to surprise me. He used a fantastic piece of Cocobolo for the riser, then put in a Mrytle flare, with Myrtle limb veneers....ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL
I don't know how to post pictures, so you'll have to trust me....it's purdy, and shoots every bit as good as it looks.
Billy,
If you still have my e-mail, send me the pics, I will put them up here for you. If not, PM me your e-mail address.
Craig,
Here are a couple pics of the black glasss from my "beater" before I got it dipped:

I talked to Brian last week and I'm going to stop by his shop in a few weeks to look at wood combos. My bow is scheduled for early September. I shot one of Steve O's back in May and had to have one. Anyhow, I'm thinking Osage and Cocobola or Osage/Waterfall Bubinga. I'm also "kickin the tires" on a phenolic combo. I've always wanted a bow with osage in it though.

What a beauty Billy, didn't even know he offered wavy flairs. Here's mine.

Craig, Thanks for posting pictures for me.
Tom, to the best of my knowledge, this is the 1st, and only bow Brian has done so far with the riser flare. I think he did a great job.
Brain and I both wanted to do something a little different on this bow. The only thing Brian knew was that I liked Myrtle, and I requested that he use Myrtle somewhere in the bow. I told him to use his imagination, pick the woods and surprise me. I knew he would put his best effort into it and come up with something special....boy, did he ever!
I ask Brian to make the grip circumference a bit larger, and make the GRIP RIDGE more prounounced. It couldn't have came out better if I had been standing there when he shaped the grip.
I'm not going to get on the soapbox and tell everyone how good the TT's shoot again, as I'm sure that gets old.
No one bow suits every shooter, but if you haven't tried one, you might ought to.
I think that flare riser is excellent, both the colors and design.
Ethical Redneck--you neeed a true "Hawkeye" bow for those big Iowa/Illinois Whitetails
Osage and Phenolic Riser with Osage on the belly of the limbs and Black on the back. Osage tips.
Hey here's mine, its a walnut dymondwood riser, and diamondback snake skins on limbs.

Beautiful bow Mark....those skins are really nice.

Thanks for the pics guys! Great looking bows.
Steve, that combo sounds sweet! After it's done, I might need you to rub it on Gene and Barry's hair challenged scalps for good luck. Talk at ya soon buddy.......
I like mine.

I'm sure I could get the "other" rednecks to put some kind of mojo on it for you.
Here is another shot of Billy's bow:

Craig,
Here is a Bocote riser with Black Limba limbs
(http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b351/osminski/Bows/DSC05752.jpg)
Some of the prettiest bows I've seen! I really dig a deep, dark reddish-brown color, so on my order (which I placed yesterday :D :D :D :D :D :D ) I went with either Brazilian Rosewood or Cocobolo, at least for now...Brian is going to call me when he gets his new shipment of Brazilian Rosewood in and tell me what it looks like. The throat section of the riser will be one of those woods and the forward section will be Phenolic...Black glass on the limbs with antler bolts and tips :D
Those are some sweet looking bows.I cant post pics, sorry. But I like my 60 inch Coco Bolo Diamondwood riser with black phenolic. Its got the 16 inch riser and makes a 60 inch bow.Its very very solid no doubt!I draw it 30 inches and it really does pull very smooth all the way and shoots sweetly.I am very happy with that aspect of the bow.Matched up with the longer limbs making it a 62 inch bow I am sure it would be very smooth shooting. It works very well at 60 inches though I assure you.Sixty two inches would be way smooth for you on the 16 inch riser.Dont rule out diamonwood with black glass limbs. That would be a very tough bow!Not as perty. But for utilitarian purposes it cant be beat and still looks nice.
I think the HH cheetah has the best looking limbs. I love the looks of Juniper.
Wenge and bocote

Steelhead,
64" is my favorite length and that's what I went with...18" riser with long limbs. If I went to Dymondwood, I would probably have the bow dipped in Predator camo...wouldn't match my pretty arrows very well, but it'd be a hunting machine ;)
Wickles,
Great bow! Wenge is a neat wood you don't hear about as much as some of the others, but I love the colors and figuring.
Craig
Here's my newest that Brians working on, phenolic/osage, osage limbs.

:scared: :scared:
That is sweeeet!
Yaa the 64 incher should be a nock buster and super dead in the hand.I would imagine its gonna be as smooth a shooter as you could get.The 18 inch riser is gonna have alot of mass weight with any wood picked no doubt. These are some seriously robust risers. That phenolic one is bad to the bone Will
Good luck with your bow!
That phenolic riser is going to look a lot better when it is finished ! Looks like it is waiting for the final finish sanding and spray. NICE combo!
Yea that's without any finish I believe. I can't wait to get this one.
stop posting pics of these TT bows......you know some of us can't say 'NO' all the time and it's costing me!!!!
must be good...........don't need another bow.......agggggggg
all kidding aside, some of those pics were just amazing examples of GEorgous bows.
Will--Mr. Wickles Pickles I presume--you make the BEST relish in the entire world--I don't like any relish except yours. The pickles are excellent too, but I cannot ever get into them as both of my kids devour them as soon as I put a jar in the fridge
Joe,
I hope you buy a TT just so we can see what a GOOD picture of one looks like!
Ahhh, I was putting up some '49 Grizzly pictures and I noticed this solid phenolic TallTines. Thought you guys would like to see...
Steve-
How does that phenolic shoot compared to the composite wood risers? Don't you have them set up identical? How is the physical weight?
Mike,
I will let you know next week!
I am not expecting much difference. I'm told it is as solid if not moreso than all the other TT risers. I am trying to get some weights of some of the other riser materials and will post when I get them. My guess is the phenolic will be almost the heaviest. I bet there is not a 2 oz. difference between the heavier exotics, dymondwood, and phenolic.
Steve O,
Yes sir that's me, I'm glad you like the products.
So the phenolic isn't that much heavier? This will be my first phenolic riser so this is uncharted waters for me. Brian told me that the phenolic felt really solid, I can't wait to give it a try.
Steve, now that's a "GOOD" picture.
