hi all never shot either of these bows and have a chance to trade for either bow what are the differinces as far as speed, quiet, tuning, how they shoot?
i know both are fine bows just looking for opinions thanks Ralph
I've never handled a Mohawk, but my GNCG is a favorite bow. It is as quick as anything of a similar design and is absolutely quiet. It is a very consistent shooter for me and has no bad habits.
Ralph, I have shot both and prefer the Great Northern. Nothing at all wrong with the Mohawk but prefer the Great Northern. The Mohawk was quiet, and no handshock just did not care for the grip as much. Great Northerns have a good following as well, quiet, and smooth as Fletcher said. Flint
Great Northern 100%.
i'm sorry to say, but there is no way that words can describe precisely how any bow will feel or shoot for YOU.
totally forget the opinions of others - that's hearsay and has nothing to do with YOUR reality of how a bow feels in YOUR hands and after YOU release an arrow.
either work it out so you can shoot both bows before deciding or ...
... play the eenie meenie minee moe game and hope to get lucky.
actually, you'd never know if ya got lucky 'cause you dunno how that other bow would feel and shoot for YOU!
thanks guys,Rob i play that game a lot lol
yea i have found most are right in the middle speed wise looking for a sweet shooter right now with speed being not at the top of the list!
what rob said is right!he is being honest and he could have said mohawk because we know that is a bow he enjoys!good luck and hope you get the best bow for you.
Rob is right on!!
I have even had two HH bows both made by the right people(HH Archery)
They were so close but as different as day and night.
I had to look to be sure which one I had in my hand just so I'd know how it wanted to be held and shot.
Each had it's own particulars and if I didn't do it their way they just didn't shoot like they should.
God bless,Mudd
Mudd, I know the feeling of 2 different bows by the same maker. I was told by a wise friend if you pick up a bow and love the way it shhots you should just buy it because one like it from the same bowyer may not be the same. I shot a Northern Mist Baraga at Compton a few years ago but the red glass just was not me, but boy was it a shooter. Flint
For ME, GNCC all the way. Great bow.
thanks guys,i had a big Jim one time a two pcs longbow it shot absolutely amazing for me can't explain why it just shot great so i figured if a 62" bow shoots this good a 64" bow will shoot better boy was i wrong and the guy that has it now says it aint going nowhere :archer2: they are not all the same for sure!
