Anyone have pictures of successful coues deer hunts? These little critters just intrigue me!
No archery success yet but I have a few on my game cameras. These little deer fill my dreams all year long.

I can't think of many animals tougher to harvest!! I've seen film clips and these little guys are wary.
Aim low, closest thing to a kangaroo in the states!!!
Good luck with your dream Canyon :)

Hey wasapt,
I don't suppose there is a story in our near future is there? We would love to hear about that amazing trophy...
Todd
Bryce has all kinds of pics for the rest of us to dream about.. Nice buck!
Wow fantastic deer and photo Bryce, well done Sir.
Hey guys, you are very kind, thanks. I will write a post of the story later tonight. I would like to post one more, it will add to the story. This was buck #1, not quite the buck shown above who was buck #2 but at any rate, still a nice trophy!
Her is the first buck, (http://i973.photobucket.com/albums/ae220/bolson1/IMG_0342.jpg)
Coaster500, what size of pic is the right size, for future reference? Thanks for your help!!!
i am with Mudd on this, Those critters should be able to hear your heart beat at 40 yards...
Your first pic was fine as long as it is no bigger than 600 pix wide I believe is the rule.
Congrats Bryce,I can't wait for the story.
That is awesome, thanks guys! That is a really nice coues from what I have read about them. How much did that guy dress out at?
There is something about those deer for me too. I live in the midwest and cont my blessings on killing a few big 'uns from this area but would jump outa my skin to hunt one of those desert deer...ahhhh someday! Nice pics Bryce!

Here is one from a couple of years ago. Instead of thinking about what to do in the middle of January, I'll be heading south to try again. Jim
My boys and I haven taken quite a few, but none with traditional equipment. I plan on working really hard to make that happen this year. Taking one with traditional equipment no matter what the size is a true trophy.
I booked my hunt with Arrow Five outfitters thru Bowhunting Safari Consultants It was a flight from Phoenix into Sonora Mexico, landing in Hermissilo. About 3 hrs east of there was the ranch and it was very large and several thousand acres.
The first morning I saw lots of deer, 30-40 I am guessing and it was very exciting knowing from my tree stand, I could have so many around me.
Coues deer hunts don't have you out in the morning at darkthirty - you can eat and arrive at your stand around 830a. The deer come to water about 9a and when they come, you never hear the gray ghosts, they are just there. I will post some pics and continue...

Love those pics keep them coming. They are beautiful deer.

How about a story to go along with those pictures.

The country was awesome. The weather was very mild. I had dressed in layers so as the day wore on, i shed clothes as needed.

I saw lots of sign and many deer everyday. This rub was close to a waterhole where I eventually hunted.
I used a short tree for my tree stand.

Here is the view and my shooting lane. The fence is 18 yds and you can see a doe ready to jump the fence and come get a drink...
This nice doe came in from a different point and got her drink
(http://i973.photobucket.com/albums/ae220/bolson1/DSC00489.jpg)
Suddenly, the gray ghost appeard out of nowhere
And another, but again not a clear shot! (http://i973.photobucket.com/albums/ae220/bolson1/Coues2010027.jpg)
Finally, the deer stepped into a shooting lane. I shot and he bounded a short distance 40 yds away and laid down...
My self portrait in the field. Unfortunately, I don't have pics of the second deer's events leading up to the kill. He approached the same water hole via the same path. I had nearly an identical shot and was so excited he was symmetrical with 2 brow tines. #2 scored 76 3/8" P & Y. (http://i973.photobucket.com/albums/ae220/bolson1/DSC00502.jpg)
Thanks for the story and pictures. You should be proud of those coues deer.
Take care,
Mark
Nice Coues Deer guys, they are neat critters! Would be happy getting one by any method!
