I would hesitate to use a modern string on one of Jim's original bows but the newer ones would likely be safe.

I too would hesitate to use a FF type string on it.I would try the new B55 dacron strings, supposed to have less stretch and creep compared to the older B50 dacron. But is safe for all dacron bows or any other bows.

I believe my Quest came with a Dynaflight 97 string on it from Bill Howland himself.

If it is a Quest it is not one of Jims older bows. It is one built by Bill Howland and it is FF compatible.

Correct.  I emailed Brackenbury concerning a string for a Quest.  Mr. Howland stated any string would be fine on a Quest but he highly recommend flemmish style strings for less noise.
