I have three recurves that I shoot equally well out to 20 yd.62" MAIII 70@30, 60"PSAX 61@30, 60" PCHX 44@30. I will be using a ghilie suite for the first time this year for whitetail. Is one of the bows above going to have an advantage for me? THANKS TERM
Of the three bows, which is your favorite? Shoot that one.
If one of the 3 requires less conscious thought, that's the one to pick. Your mind will need to pay attention to your ghuillie until you've worn it enough to have it become a part of you. You don't need the extra distraction of also having to think about your bow at the same time.
Once your ghuillie and your bow become second nature to you then you're into the "A" game which you'll need for those wary old whitetailed does.
God bless,Mudd
If I had a 30'' draw.I would sell those short bows and get a 64''+ recurve.
As for the bows you have,
Give me horsepower the 70#er
BK,big difference between the 70# and the 44#.Staing on the ground with a gillie you can expect close shots so you need a bow that come at full draw fast and easy. The answer is yous.
Have you shot all 3 wearing the ghillie?
I agree with where Biggie is going. If you truly do shoot all three as well as the others I would let the suit decide. Shoot all 3 with all your hunting gear and the suit on. You find you hold each a little different and 1 bow snags the sleve while clearance is not an issue with another. Shoot them from real life positions and see which works for you best. Hunt with that one then post some bigsmile photos for us.
enie, menie, minie, moe catch a whitetail by the toe if he bellows let the arrow go,my mother said to pic the one you feel most comfortable with while in the suit in the position you will be in(kneeling, sitting, ect.)
All good advice here...depending upon the type and size of the suit, and your shooting position, each bow will shoot a little different. You will definitely feel more confident with one.
Good hunting...this has become my go to approach for whitetail now that I can't climb into trees with any confidence.
Just make sure you trim the suit for all posible shooting positions.
