Alright, it aint that big of a deal, but it is pretty cool. Snoopin around some yard sales he bought a 44# 55" Red Wing Hunter, by wing archery! For those of you that dont know Wing archery was around 1951ish, and was either owned or turned into Bob lee archery! I think I am way more excited than he is lol.
kwell.
Wow! What a find. I keep hoping to run into something like that. The best I have done was a solid glass bow of unknown make that I bought for $5.00. I gave it to my daughter-in-law because it had a double shelf and she's a lefty. I fixed her up with some arrows too. Then I had to do the same thing for my other daughter-in-law with an old glass bow I got online.
Chris , some of the best shooting bows I have had were Wings ... Some real tradition in that company . i think the Presentation model is one of , if not the first three piece take downs around .
Good find by your mate . Bob Lee archery is a great company with a ton of history !
Chris:
Tell him we'll pay $25 for it.
What a deal!!! Unbelieveable... I guess some people are just born lucky.
Congratulations to him...

:DI already offered him 30 bucks for it, he wouldn't go for it, lol. I checked that famous auction site for that bow and the cheapest one I saw was goin for 77, lol. Some of us go our entire lives without finding a dollar on the ground, and then some guys just get lucky!
That is a great bow! Love the Red Wing Hunters.
Was the first bow I ever bought, wished I still had it. It is always good to be at the right place at the right time and most importantly having a knowledge of what you are looking at.
The original Wing's were great. Your friend truly stole that one. After Bob Lee sold the company the new bows(AMF,etc.) not so good. When Rob Lee decided he wanted to get into the bow building business, the Bob Lee Archery company was founded in Jacksonville, Texas. Bob and Rob have worked together to make Bob Lee Archery one of the top names in traditional archery today. They make good products, at fair prices and provide excellent customer service.
I've got one of those all fiberglass camp bows. Mine is a 45# Ben Pearson.
I have a 2pc fiberglass south bend D shaped bow that was my Dads when he was a young adult.
