I made my first string tonight, and although it'll never be worn by a bow, it was MUCH MUCH easier than I thought it would be.
Now XXXXXXXXXXX is gonna get even more of my $$$$$$$$

...a one color string is no fun, and I only have one color of TS-Plus and one color of D97
It's like learning to tie your shoes--really not that hard, just hard to explain properly. On top of that, it seems there are lots of "secrets" that some won't share, and others just don't know.
Making a good string just requires good information and some practice. With those two things, most anyone that can tie their shoes can make a flemish (or endless) bowstring.

"Doing The Twist" is well done, and worth the money.
I've made several endless strings with a homemade "uni-strut" jig.
I see the obvious advantage of endless strings, but dang, I made a complete flemish string MY FIRST TIME (minuse center serving) in a bout the time it takes me to do one end of an endless. And flemish have their own advantage.
It really is easy. I know what held me back for a long time is that I couldn't quite "picture" it. I finally went ahead and say "heck with it...lets see what comes out of this".
I'm glad I did. I enjoy all the tinkering of archery as much as any other part, and want others to get a little encouragement to go ahead and make the jump.
So, if you've ever wondered about trying to do a flemish twist string...THEN DO IT!!!!!!!!
Thanks--one thing we didn't do is leave any of our "secrets" out of the DVD. I've modified the way I make strings a tiny bit since we filmed it, but basically what you see in the DVD is what you would see sitting at my shop watching me make strings (minus the overheating...)
I myself have recently tried D10. I was using D97 and FastFlightPlus. So far seems pretty good but is it worth the extra $$$? Only time will tell.

Tricia is learning how from a friend. I am shooting in the first one she made tomorrow.
Once you get the hang of it, it's pretty straight-forward. It's very satisfying to shoot stuff that you made yourself.
Been making my own for years....it's great not having to rely on someone else. The only problem now, if you can call it a problem, is that I have friends asking or needing a string on short notice, or needing to have their string reserved. Like Ben said, once you get the hang of it, it's pretty simple.
