Title: arrow slap
Post by: LeverActionman on June 29, 2010, 03:00:00 PM
I just got some 2016 alums and when I shoot it sounds like the arrow slaps the riser I shoot a 65# selfbow with no shelf just wanted to know what the problem could be?

Raise nock point 1/8th and see what happens.

Sounds like your underspined.Ive shot 2016 from 46-55# and they worked well but that 65 is a jump up.The raised nock point might help though, it has worked wonders on some of my bows.

Isn't that a relly light arrow for a selfbow? I thought the heavier the better for a selfbow. I can use them for bows under 50lbs

I used stus calculator to get my arrow right and it said 2016 at 31.5 with 125 grain heads and that is still on the stiff side.My bow is 9/16 or 5/8 from center. That is why a low spined arrow is needed.
