Title: Sitka Downpour vs Sitka Stormfront Lite
Post by: Steve Leffler on June 27, 2010, 09:18:00 PM
So I am in the market for some new packable rain gear.  It looks like both are made with Goretex Paclite material.  What is the difference?  Is  one quieter, more durable or anything.  I am leaning towards the Downpour but I have never had my hands on either of them.  I prefer whichever is quieter.  Thanks to any of the Sitka experts who can help.

Steve,

You want the Downpour.  It has an extra 1/2 layer on the exterior that has some nap to it to make it MUCH more quiet.  I've handled both of the new models and I have a set of Downpour coming.

I briefly looked at some at Cabelas and was a little shocked at how noisy it was, must have been the Stormfront.
