My oldest son recently sold all his archery gear and is giving up bowhunting. He says he will hunt the firearms season. Gonna miss him this September. We've been doing this since he was little.
This is sad news Benha.
Hang in there. From one parent to another, all we can do is be there...always.
Lead by example and make the most of the situation. :campfire:
He may come back. My oldest liked few things better than bowhunting and then quit hunting all together. He's back and even went to his first 3D shoot with me a few weeks ago. He's now hoping to take a deer with his Shrew this year.
I do understand you being bummed. My son was my best hunting bud for quite a while.
We do a lot of other things together and I have the grandkids interested so it's ok.
I feel your pain , my daughter gave up hunting after she killed her first turkey. We still go camping and shoot 3-D's together. Maybe there is someone else you can take under your wing for bowhunting ?
Daughter loves stumping and my two oldest grandchildren love the flight of the arrow.
sad news benha but like bcwv says he may come back this is a wonderful sport and hard to shake for very long get those grand kids out in the woods and when they tell dad how much fun they had stumpin he may realize hes better off out there with em
:banghead: :dunno: :nono:
Benha, why'd he quit?
Just too busy and he is at the "limiting out" stage as a hunter.
Benha, I predict he'll come back to it. If you don't mind my 2 cents, let him find his way and my guess is he'll be back. hang in there in the meantime
All you can do is love'em!
They all make choices that we wish they didn't at times.
Love'em anyway!
God bless,Mudd
It doesn't matter what tool he is going to hunt with anymore. He has learned a respect for nature and the hunt THROUGH bow hunting. He will always carry it with him.
he'll be back.he's just exploring all his options in life.my kid bounced back and forth five times between guns and bows in a two year period.ya just gotta give em the old sad puppy look now and then. :readit:
