Ya'll have seen some of my posts about the bows Mike Dunnaway makes. When choosing my bow Mike was great talked me through choices, made professional suggestions etc.
Well anyway, I loved the 56" Kestrel I bought from him. A week ago Sunday I was shooting the bow and the lower limb at the fade out failed. :scared: First time something like that happened to me. I immediately called Mike and left a message. Needless to say I was dissappointed that the bow had failed and I have had the bow for about 18 months. I was hoping we could work something out because I really liked the bow and wanted to get another of his bows.
Mike called back later that day and we went thru what had happened. He had me send the bow back to him for him to inspect. He told me after he had looked at it we could talk about a replacement and how we would work it out so everyone would be happy.
Well, Mike called yesterday after he received the bow and inspecting it. Well he had no explaination for the failure, and commented that it appeared that I took good care of the bow. I told him I wanted another bow regardless. He said he would build me a new one at no charge. I was shocked to say the least, I fully expected to shell out some cash for a new bow, if only a portion of the full price.
To me this is what customer service is all about. I will purchase another Wild Horse Creek bow or bows. Not only because of I like the bows, but mainly because of the positive experience I've had dealing with Mike.
:clapper:
If you're looking for a great bow and excellent customer service I highly recommend talking to Mike.

That's more than customer service!
That's one tradgang brother to another, it just so happens that Mike also makes bows for other folks too!
God bless,Mudd
I have talked to Mike may times. He is a straigh shooter, great guy.
I'll be in the St Louis area next month and if I can squeeze it in, I plan on making the trip to see him. First met Mike and his lovely wife at the UBM banquet in 04-05, was impressed then and am more so now.
I really like Mike's bows. Especially like the sassafras lams and sweet full length working limbs on his short longbows. Great choice of bow and bowyer.
I ordered a Mariah 54" recurve from Mike at Compton. After test shooting one there I Knew I needed one of those Ponies in my stable.
It is good to hear folks are having good service AFTER the sale. Makes me confident that my gut feeling was right after meeting Mike and shooting his bows.
Now for the fun part... waiting !
I was looking at one of his Kestral bows at a shoot in Topeka this month. Man that is a sweet little bow and Mike's craftsmanship is amazing. I am not surprised that he backs his work 100%...that's just the kind of guy he is.
