I realize there are many Sponsors here but not sure which ones carry the nice & tough leather gloves.
My son needs one, his old one is one that was well crafted from an unknown guy in Montana, it had the 2nd layer of leather tips for durability but yet sensitive enough to feel the string reasonably well.
Can someone please steer me in the right direction! Thank You!
four words- American Leathers big shot
Paul,
I agree with sleepyhollow - American Leathers makes a danged nice shooting glove. I have used them and I liked them. But they are "proud" of that glove.
My favorite has always been the Wyandotte closed end glove, maybe caused I've used them since Hector was a pup (shows you how old I really am)
But they are - -
- affordable - so you can have a spare or 2
- somewhat breathable for summer
- seem to last a long time - even with crimp-on nock points
Alot may depend on your son's draw weight. Does he need / prefer the 2nd layer of leather.
I seem to shoot better with a single layer - but that's me.
A slightly heavier version of this is the Black Widow PDQ glove. I like that one too. And you can get the BW glove with 2 layers of leather too.
The Wyandotte gloves are not expensive - I think around the $9.00 range at 3 Rivers. The BW PDQ glove is a bit more at $12 range.
You might give one of those a try.

Thanks! My son pulls 60# & has been using the gloves with the extra piece of soft leather on the tips. I know that's what he's leaning towards.
I assume American leathers is a sponsor here? I'm not concerned with price as much as it's the right glove for him! Thanks again!

Love the Big Shot glove. I have been using it for a couple of years and its still good infact its just now getting broken in good.
Kustom King sells a great 3 finger glove with codura reinforced finger tips.....
Nice glove.

another vote for the American Leathers Big Shot, best glove ive tried, been through a bunch of them, nothing else is close in my view.
I have new BW model that is nice. Be aware that it will stretch pretty good. I have a big hand and I got a large I may have been able to shoot a medium. The fingers stretched more than I thought they would,I shoot alot so my gloves break in pretty quick. I did try a American leather glove up at Lake Henshaw great glove and it was a medium. Funny the glove belonged to a old Marine and I while not as old have been out for 24 yrs now. Point is he was a big guy and so am I and he had a medium buffalo is what his glove was if I am not mistaken.
American Leathers is the best, Ive tried quite a few and the big shot is my go to glove... Awesome glove
American Leathers wears like iron.
Elknut 1, I've got an American Leathers I've only shot maybe a dozen times. I don't like it. It is too thick for me to feel my anchor the way I like. I was thinking of doing a giveaway thread, but if you are in need, shoot me your address if your interested. Oh yea, it is a large.
Hmm, I didn't realize at first this is an old thread. Hes probably got a glove by now so maybe I'll do the giveaway after all.
Another vote for American Leathers, great customer service, quick shipping, and they are in ID.
I use nothing but Damascus glove because they feel natural on my hand and can realy feel the string.
Personally I shoot nothing but the American Leathers Big shot elk glove. I've been shooting the same one for 4 years now and just ordered a new one incase I loose this one. They are thicker in the tips so I'm not sure if thats what you really want if string sensitivity is your priority, but they are very durable and well worth the money..
I can shoot all day with my B.W. glove!
