These two longbows are a couple that I made, sorry no build along. As I have stated on here before, these are part of my ongoing effort to find a longbow I can shoot - I love they way/romance they look, but my elbow just keeps on hurting.
The longer one is 67" and 59# @ 29". I have hunted with it, but man it is stout these days. It has a black walnut and hickory riser with the same for tips. The core is actionwood and actionboo with zebrawood under clear glass back and belly.
The other is one I built for my Pastor, but at 74 he gave it back to me (said he can't shoot anymore and if he needs it he knows where it is). It is 65" and 42# @ 29". It shoots better than the other one looks and has an osage riser with a strip of walnut in between the laminates and osage/walnut tips. The core is actionwood with red elm under clear glass. Man, does it shoot great!
I love wood! :jumper:

Nice job!! Jmgcurve I should dig a round and see if there isn't something or enough somethings to trade you out of that 42lb'er.
Then I'd have a selfbow made a tradganger.
How cool would that be? Way! At least it would be for me...lol
Have you quit trying to build them? I had to; DR's orders. No more breathing in wood dust with one lung working. I think the only bow made by my hand still here is the one I made for the "Woogchilde" when she was around 3 or 4 years old. She tells me that it will be going to Brinlee Mae when she gets old enough.
I got Brinlee an old (1915-1920) LE Stemmler that is so very cool. I mean it"s an extreme miniature version of an Osage flat longbow with LE Stemmler stamped into the wood.
Thanks for sharing those with us Michael!
God bless,Mudd
Those are nice!
Nice job  :archer: :goldtooth:
Mudd,
Probably better keep the 42#er, sorry it shoots too good.
I have not stopped make them just slacked off for a while with different priorities - college age children and grandchildren.
Thanks, bolong and bentpole...
Oh well when you start up again keep me in mind.. I don't mind being on a list. I spend a great deal of time being on my trophy wife's' list...lol That ain't exactly what I was hoping for though..lol
God bless,Mudd
Like most people here I envy your talent. Those are two great bows.
Some day I hope to make one myself, but until then I will take all of the pointers that you want to give.
once again, great bows.
Sweet!
Very nice bows, well done. :clapper:
