Title: Bamboo Arrow Question
Post by: northland archer on June 20, 2010, 06:41:00 PM
When buying bamboo shafts that are already hand spined, are they spined at 28" or at the length they are being sold?  I am looking at a few shafts that are 39.5" long and spined at 60-65.  If I cut them down to 29-30 will spine change?  I have a bunch more questions, however, they can wait until a later time.  (i have read many of the posts on this subject but still a beginner) Thanks for your input.

if a spine is given then they should be spined at 28", but you would have to ask the seller to be sure.  to equal 60# at 39.5", the shafts would have to spine somewhere around 110# with a 125gr. point.  any time you change lenght or point weight, you chance spine.

Yes, what he said.
It should be the same issue as the POC or spruce shafts we usually use. They're 32" long but they are spined for a 28" length.
Good idea to check with the dealer, though.
