Title: Bamboo clothes
Post by: Hot Hap on June 20, 2010, 04:49:00 PM
Anyone have any experience with the bamboo fiber hats-shirts-gloves-socks. Are they comforable? Do they wick?
Thanks-Hap

I have some socks with bamboo in them. Not much different, maybe a little cooler.

I work at a fitness center and they make clothes for working out that have bamboo fiber in them, they felt silky smooth.

I have several t-shirts that are quite comfy and soft. There the light weight type so there perfect for summer roving. Seem to wick away moisture fairly well. The only downside is that I can only seem to find them at the urban yuppy stores and they can be spendy. Although they do come in a variety of natural colors

My wife bought me some of those Green-Eco bamboo fiber socks.... They have a 100% guilt tax built into the price(cost double) They are comfy cool, but wear out twice as fast...

Green and Enivromentally- is a meketting ploy to make you pay more for something that probably has 50% value of regular items... IMHO that is....

I bought a pair of North Face base layer underwear made of bamboo at a discount store.  They are very soft, lightweight, and seem to wick moisture well.  I have only had them for one cold season so don't know about durability.  I would not hesitate to buy another bamboo clothing item if I can get it for the same price as other base layer materials.  One day, I will get the nerve to buy wool base layer clothing.
